The Alpitronic Chargers usually work very well. In Germany they are considered the most reliable, especially the big brands like EnBW prefer them and build big charging parks with them

I wonder why the alpitronic charger did not work. In Germany Most EV drivers prefer hypercharger by alpitronic as they are pretty reliable.

Those alpitronics have had similar issues here in Finland. Good thing Recharge switched to mainly Kempower now for new HPC installations.

Really, is this a thing? Never had troubles with alpitronic chargers. Downside of current Kempower installations is that they are limited to 300A, whereas alpitronic can deliver up to 500A.

I put the latest software on my 2019 Ioniq and everything got better but the radio screen. It now looks like some college kid's shitty winamp skin (fake nixie tubes, wtf?) and the preset buttons don't show the station names anymore. That's an issue for SiriusXM where there's so many channels that you don't have the numbers memorized. There's no way to downgrade it either without getting into hacking territory and risking that you'll brick it. :-(

Btw, you can set the 12V outlets to be always on on the ID cars. There’s a fuse in the fuse box below the steering wheel that you can insert half a row down to set it.

I used that charger in Alvdal twice in the last few weeks and had no problems with the interface and also got great speeds. Weird that you had issues there. I thought it was a good alternative to Ionity which was packed when I was there too.

I would like you to also do these 2000 km with Renault clio electric or and Dacia Spring vehicles because not everyone has the economic power to buy a VW ID4 GTX, don't you think? Although I think that Norway must be a very poor country because they charge for circulate on its roads, on the other hand, in Spain the roads are free except the toll roads that there are less and less every day. We offer another network of free highways called autovias. Come to Spain and you will know it for yourself. Thanks for the video and take care all of you.

In German tests on you tube the GTX had allready the new Software (ME2.2). The home button ist a now VW logo. The color design was red not blue. On the other IDs the new software rolls out since yesterday.

The charging kerfuffle at Alvdal... That's the kind of stuff I really wouldn't have patience with. When switching from my old petrol Golf to electric, I don't want to mess around with X number of apps, one for each charging provider. I don't want to be faced with chargers that are kaputt. I want to be able to just plug the car in, pay with either my debit card or use one single app, and have that be it.

Nice to see true experience of using a none Tesla. . In this day and age theres no excuses for a manufacturer to not have a working infotainment system in a modern car .so many reviews of people struggling with these systems not a good look for the VW group or there sister Companies

Everyone has problems. It's nice if your Tesla works but... My family members both have a model S and an X. loads of issues, a few major (non closing doors, wrong camber resulting in exploding tires, high voltage error, high battery degradation,...) Then a brand new model 3 gets delivered and the handbrake isn't working. A week on the bridge and no solution in sight. Not excuses for the bad ID.? infotainment system of course - but quality issues are also hitting Tesla, unfortunately.

Its weird how the software on the ID family is so inconsistent, I have an ID3 tech and the software on it runs fine barely any lag but yet this ID 4 is like a lag fest :/

Same with my ID.4. No problems, but clearly there is something which is causing these lag problems and VW just have to get rid of them. Turning off voice recognition and removing a square map shortcut has helped with some users.

Honestly I would instantly return the car if those touch problems occur all the time… Apple did it better 2007… still 14 years later VW can’t. The complete platform (also in skoda cars) is just an alpha version.
