Wanting to have a certain type of hair because you personally think it looks nice does not equate to not liking your own hair. I am 100% positive that several black girls have been and are envious of caucasian or asian hair and wound up hating their own hair because of that, but that is not necessarily everyone's case. A lot of caucasian girls think afro-textured hair looks awesome, or they like how slick a lot of asian hair looks. Some blondes are envious of brunettes, some flat haired people want waves or curls. Some girls love colorful hair, but are too afraid to dye their natural hair because they also love their natural hair. I agree that more representation is necessary, but there is not always an underlying identity rejection crisis in every girl's heart just because they like a certain style ;)

Look at everyone trying to be politically correct. "wHY nOT jUST calL tHem dADs" It's a peek at African-American culture and hair. Afrocentric hair texture is usually coily, kinky, or difficult to style and manage. It's usually up to the moms to do the hair. But in this segment, the usual roles are switched so we can take a look at how the _dads_ style the hair. It's not politically incorrect to point out that they're black dads. They are after all, black dads. And it _matters_ because black culture and black hair are relevant to this segment. Don't be so sensitive.

How is the title racist ? Traditionally in the black community like in any other community doing your children’s hair is particularly done by the women. Majority of the hairstyles black women wear are passed down generation to generation are from mother to daughter. So having Black Dad’s learn and try these hairstyles on their daughters is beautiful and groundbreaking. Let’s not forget black peoples hair for the most part have a tighter curling pattern, so managing to do the hairstyles on our hair takes a lot of practice. From the simplest ponytail to the two layer cornrows with beads at the end.

Big props to that dads doing the 4c hair. You actually have to style it instead of just casually running combing thru it

I turned out with 3a/3b hair (used to be curlier when I was younger). I wish I had type 4 hair. Props to you brothers and sisters who take care of your hair. I never understood how to take care of mine and it's curly haha. I spent money on local products (I'm not American) and a lot of them didn't work.

This is not rasist black people have a different hair texture than white people so men trying to do it for the first time is not that easy

People. It says Black Dad's because there's only black dad's in this video. That's not racist.

The reason why the title has “Black dads” in it instead of just “dads” is due to the fact that a black person’s hair performs a lot different than others.

People tripping over the title and don’t even realize why they mentioned them being black has to do with the texture of the hair.
@Haynic5 жыл бұрын
For all the people commenting why does it have to say “black dads”, the way I took it is those with African ethnicity/race tend to have harder to deal with hair. So this wouldn’t be a normal “dad’s try to do their daughters hair” because this hair is way harder to manage than some dads putting their white daughters straight blonde hair into a ponytail. They might have been able to title it better, but this is what I believe they meant by it.

Maybe because mothers are more confident in it since they have done it before and the dads don't regularly do it so they are being careful

It’s black fathers bc it’s hard as hell to do a black little girls hair, especially if you haven’t done it before. And why are some people mad? It’s a wholesome video of men doing their daughters’ hair. And a lot of white people get mad when black people complain about inclusion. Come on now, keep the same energy.

For anyone who i getting annoyed with the title. The reason it says black dads is because it is black dada doing their black daughters hair. Imagine if they just said dads doing their daughters hair for the first time and then only showing black dads, then their would be a problem. Them stating it just helps to specify the video and it contents. As a black person my self I have no problem with the title and neither should you. It is not racist in the slightest, just let it be.
