It is a matter of technicality. They did remove his soul from his body, but that just means that it is lifeless, not dead, which is normally the same thing. Just without a soul the body doesn't move or do much of anything, like forever asleep, so for long periods of time it can be a problem and it will eventually die. But for short periods of time, it will be fine.

The line "Espadas 4 and... another number" at 3:27 reminds me of my fan theory about Yammy's "Espada Zero" status: since Yammy's clearly the big dumb weakling of the Espada and his "reveal" with his resurrection is followed by him not really doing much of anything and then getting defeated offscreen, it's my personal theory that he really is just the weakest Espada and that Aizen made up the notion of Yammy's ranking changing when he releases his Zanpakuto just to mollify him when he was throwing a hissy fit over being ranked the lowest out of the Espada. Like, "No, Yammy, you're not pathetically weak, no; when you go all out, your, uh, number changes... yeah, that's it! You go from number 10 to, uh, number ZERO! Totally!" I don't know if that's what Tite Kubo intended originally (doubt it), but doing that seems TOTALLY in keeping with Grobin-Aizen. Of course, it sounds like you may already have your own jokes in mind for the whole Espada zero thing, but you're perfectly welcome to use my theory if you'd like :D

The espada ranking is based on reiatsu so maybe that is true, but yammy is definetly the strongest based on reiatsu alone as for fighting I would put my money on arroniero before yammy, easily the second dumbest character in the series.

2 years probably to late to say this. Your partially right. Many of the espada numbers are arbitrary.. Former espada numbers were given three digit numbers. Fraction" numbers based on when they became arrancar (11 being younger than 12) not by strength. The only number Aizen seemed to dish out out of genuine feelings is number one to starkk. Since he reminded him of himself, an arrancar vastolorde who did it by himself and was now plagued by loneliness. The number zero in Japan is rarely used outside of math. Japanese history uses the base ten numeral system. Yammy has zero as a rank but sometimes a zero is a circle(maru). They were placed on defensive battleships for good luck. He was the big, self-absorbed beast of hueco mundo. Had terrible power but being enraged he never used it properly. He is the only espada that never uses his weapon. A beasts backstory is always boring, since he has always been this way (but the dog likes him.. because he to is just an animal). Problem I have had with translations is people calling then "aspects" like manifestations. There more like emotions that lead down a path towards suffering and early death. In Buddhism anger is a tyrant, and if your not mindful it will keep you. For every perceived slight it creates another knot on your soul. Anger is energy that causes harm, you can deal with it or if you can't do anything about the cause than be honest with yourself. Use it to motivate you, instead yammy's power made him unable to grow spiritually. He could be the strongest, but it is to late for him now. A circle of anger is the a cycle of suffering with the zero being it's mark.

When Aizen responded to ichigo, it was perfect because Aizen claims he watched and forged Ichigo's path all the way until their final fight. I love that addition and I love your abridges. You guys add very unique abridges that make sense in the context or are believable enough that you could imagine the original shifting in such a way. A lot of abridged shows tend to just say random internet references and memes instead of actually paying attention to what their abridging. Sometimes it's funny but most of the time it's so far out of perspective that if you removed the title of the show, you still wouldn't feel like you were watching it. I'm just saying since season one, his mannerisms and speech pattern is exactly like carl's. Stuff along the lines of "Woah how'd that get there" or "that is my least favorite thing to do" and the quick rambling of a sentence without changing tone. It's almost as if someone is doing a Carl impresison

I feel like it's natural for a series, even a parody series, to shift more towards character moments and drama later on after character actually gets developed; early on too many dramatic moments would just feel more like a fandub than an abridged parody, but once abridged characters develop their own identity you can start to have serious moments that are still a new take on the original material. In fact, it kind of feels more serious when a primarily comedic work has a serious moment than when a normal series does, because it stands out more by contrast; and I really like those kind of moments (like, Sena's death and sacrifice in Memories of Nobody abridged felt a lot sadder to me than it did in the original movie, where it was kind of just drowned out in the general melodrama of the work). It's kind of ironic that you compare DBZA to B(S)A in this regard, though, because I feel like B(S)A has had more of those serious moments from earlier on than DBZA did, and is on track to have more, particularly with Orihime. Again, I don't think that's bad for either series, though; and I think both are still hilarious (I think part of the reason DBZA has veered a little less overtly humorous lately may just be that Cell and the Androids were some of the darkest content in the original material). I still think DBZA is better than B(S)A, but I'm amazed at how narrow the gap in editing and writing quality is, considering how suddenly this series appeared and how quickly the episodes are being produced; I hope this series attracts the audience it deserves, because right now the subscriber count is FAR below what it should be!
