Yes, thats an annoying bug. If you failed the entry or want to change it, you have to redo it completely. Right click -> Delete Drivers. Then you can just type it in again.

How can I have only the sides facing the camera showing in cycles? Like when you turned off backface in eevee.

Well, you could use a gradient texture to control the Alpha value of the shader which fades out at the back side.

Cool tutorial and it's perfect, but I don't see a way to utilize the displacement mode on Cycles. It doesn't appear the same way it does for you, and it's been a while since the tutorial so I don't think there's the experimental version you're referring to. Edit: Sorry I'm dumb and didnt see you going into the settings tab when changing one of the options :)
@PointCloud11 ай бұрын
When you want to see displacement in Cycles, you have to use the Render Preview. Only there the displacement will be rendered. There are other ways too to displace vertices in Blender, for example a modifier which pushes the vertices a bit around.
@PointCloud11 ай бұрын
Maybe it's disabled for you, if so then go in the Material Tab on the right: Settings -> Surface -> Displacment -> Displacement and Bump.
@sirverbs11 ай бұрын
Yeah I figured it out thanks! I didnt see that you went under settings for displacement and bump, I thought it was just under displacement. That's my bad. I'm having a strange issue where the displacement is only occuring on the flat faces though and not any of the other points I've added. The shape is structured like a cube with some greebles, but has a lot of vertices.@@PointCloud
@PointCloud11 ай бұрын
Displacement only shifts vertices along their normal vector (90° away from the surface). Make sure you don't have any modifiers or something like that interfering or changing the geometry before.

Could you do a tutorial about how to do the displacement part in eevee

I believe blender guru has one on doing the hologram with geometry nodes but much longer and more demanding on pc than this process but works in eevee

Now with Blender 4.2 you can just use displacements in Shader in EEVEE. Just enable it in the Materials Tab, problem solved :D

@PointCloud Жыл бұрын
When you work with textures, you always need Texture Coordinates. If you don't use the node specifically, Blender will still use it in the background.

PNG sequence, easier to fix single frames afterwards and you have an Alpha channel then.
