The whole "dusting" thing was done to get around network censors because you don't see any blood and the actual "murder" doesn't look nearly as violent if the vampire turns to ash, traditionally staking vampires wasn't enough because if the stake is removed or falls out because of decay the vampire will reanimate so you needed to stake the vampire and decapitate them which still left a body that needed to be disposed of.

The "Buffy" style "dusting" of vampires makes a lot more sense if you are using a "monster of the week" formula in "the real world," because it explains how all these vampires can be around and yet nobody notices. If killing vampires left a body with a wooden stake in it, then sure, you could clean that up some of the time, but a LOT of bodies would be found, and it would raise a lot of questions.

I say do a combo on what happens to the vamp body. So if their head get cut off or exposed to UV rays, then they disintegrate. However, if they are staked thru the heart, then the body is still there. Cause i remember in some old Vampire movies, if they were staked in the heart, if it was removed the vampire could live again. That's why they would have their heads cut off after the they were staked or the body would be burned so they couldn't come back. With Blade's daughter, I am hoping for that mixed connection. She wants that connection, but still resents that she wasn't told about him. they have to build their relationship. She gets eager to please but still starts to come into her own as Blade & her mother mentors her.

Seems odd if they are riding the Dhampir thing that a hunter would want to kill her. Since the folklore the term is based on focused on them being traditionally vampire hunters. Keep in mind Blade stayed away not because he's a deadbeat ass; he stayed away to protect Brielle and her mother. Blade has a lot of enemies who would love to turn Brielle and her mother into fleshy confetti just to torment Blade. Plus, he wanted her to have the normal childhood he never had. But when she really needed him, Blade showed up. Blade truly cares for his daughter.

Remember in the Marvel universe Vampires and how they function along with the abilities they possess is very magic based unlike Morbias who's vampiric abilities is more scientific based. That's why when Blade got bitten by Morbias his abilities and physical attributes changed significantly and I'm under the impression from what we know so far she has inherited this hence her "special blood"

For instnace, Spider man and the fantastic four are TECHNICALLY mutants...thier DNA has definately mutated..but they don't actually have an X-gene.

Didn't/Don't like it. The Blade character along with the vampire storylines have always been some of the darker more visceral stories in Marvel. When Marvel first ventured into these in the 70's, they had to be very careful how graphic or violent so as not to offend the Comics Code but they still wrote creepy horror type comics. The writing and the art for this, honestly, remind of the dumb Buffy the Vampire and Supernatural tv series. If you want to read a REALLY good Vampire series, check out I, Vampire by DC.

Blade was robbed of any romannce or even a love interest just for this sudden rubbish. Viewers please be aware that Blade's daughter (stupidly named "Bloodline", Urgh!🙄) was forced by orders of Marvel Studios execs on the comics division with intentions to feminize aka replace Blade in the movies to push the M-SHE-U rubbish. Remember the news from LAST YEAR 2023 (same year Bloodline was forcefully created in the comics) that Mahershala Ali refused MCU Blade movie scripts that was "FEMALE LED" with a primary female protagonist which sidelined and ridiculed Blade in his own movie? ...Yup, that FEMALE character was this this "Bloodline" garbage. It had this female character portrayed as BETTER than Blade himself while insultingly denigrating to him throughout the movie. Right now 2024, Marvel comics made whole event in the comics called Bloodhunt PRIMARILY to promote the character. Guess who is the primary villain of this event? ... Blade!!! And they show Bloodline defeats Blade (with Miles Morales to set foundation for future romance or whatever). U can clearly see the intent here. The character just suddenly appeared out of nowhere with her own book LAST YEAR 2023. There was LITERALLY no build up to her character reveal , she has ZERO backstory and her mother is an absolute nobody in Marvel comics given as much value as trash-canned wallpaper in Bloodline's story and even much LESS with Blade. We have waited and begged for Blade in the MCU for TWENTY YEARS and this is what they are doing?!??

It’s not about staying in their own corner. Someone from the culture of a character has experiences that makes it easier to bring that character to life in a full way. It’s not that people can’t/should never write someone of a different race/culture/religion, but because historically people weren’t able to write the people who represent them they were misrepresented. You would get caricatures and stereotypical characters. In a world where people have a better understanding of each other/an ideal future these things won’t be issues. You can create and write any character, but only someone who has intimate knowledge of experiences that character would have had the ability to draw deeply from those experiences to create a character who fully represents them. Doesn’t mean someone of a specific group is a better writer, it’s just means they ideally have more to pull from for the full identity of the character.

The writer was guilted into being kicked off blades book because he was not black and even to this day they are continuing with that practice of diverse characters being only written by people of their community. Ill use Black Panther as an example cause the best person who could have elevated his book into a must read book for comic fans was Jonathan Hickman but they instead went with Eve Ewing(a meh writer) because she fits the checkbox. Characters like him, Kamala, Miles, Iron Fist, and etc are being forced to be written only by people in their communities as opposed to having a good pitch. I swear if they made a Joaquin Torres Falcon book, id want Jim Zub or tochi onyebuchi to write his book cause they showed me on their previous work they could do great things with the character but because neither of them are hispanic, that will be a No No No, Same with Kelly Thompson on Ms Marvel, or Sina Grace on Simon Baz Green lantern, but again, they dont match the check boxes of the characers so its going to be a denied pitch
