On the podcast it’s mentioned that the licking of Dee’s face was completely improvised. Glenn has said that doing scenes with Jimmi Simpson are always the hardest for him because of how funny Jimmi is every time he’s on set. This was probably the first episode where I realized this show was in a league of its own. Such a great episode!

@@ivangarnica5811 I think what I (and probably a lot of others who have said similar things) mean when I express my dissapointment when he bows out for a series is that Rick brings a great perspective to discussions that's hard to take over by the other guys. When he leaves, or more commonly doesn't begin, a series, I'm usually already noting that the discussions afterwards are going to most likely lean away from his usual interests and talking points. This like overarching narrative, what parts of a show are working for/against it, keeping writers accountable (maybe to a fault lol) and the like. Calvin and Eric can go there too yeah, and Aaron's funny sidewinding trails overlap with all that, but when Rick's around for those 20+ minute breakdowns, it feels like there's a reliable stream of consciousness that overall helps everything. Ironically, the three without him can sometimes act more like a wresting stable, bouncing off the walls in promo mode haha. Sorry for the ramble, just shouting out our dude in red and why "missing" him sometines is more than just fans wanting everything, hopefully. Definitely miss his voice in convo more in shows with more arcs and big plots than Sunny though, admittedly.

I'm sure it's the McPoyles in general, but it's definitely mostly just Jimmi Simpson. Pretty sure he's on record that every time he's in the show, he tries his hardest to get everyone else to break character from sheer comedy. That's why he does all of the extreme yelling lmao.

I have to say, a lot of the big time reactors on KZbin have been really late to the always sunny party because they typically just react to what's contemporary pop culture. So to finally see them start the show, and clearly enjoy it so much makes me happy as a fan of the show and as a fan of reactors in general!. It's always sunny in Philadelphia is an all-time great sitcom. It was groundbreaking for its time and it still just hilarious. This episode in particular kind of breaks in the formula. No one considers this an all time great episode, and no one considers season 3 an all time great season. But this episode is generally a taste of pre prime. If people genuinely love this episode, there's a very very good chance you think seasons 4-7 are legitimately unmatched by any sitcom. I'm a fan, but man, Sunny is just the best sit com of all time.

Not that the previous episodes weren't funny or anything, but this was the first episode that I thought was absolutely hysterical from start to finish. Ryan stabbing Liam, Charlie farting in Mac's face, Dee succumbing to Stockholm syndrome after being the one to warn the others about it, Frank going John McClane on the McPoyles, and the abrupt anticlimax of an ending, just wall-to-wall hilarity. From this point on, the show is really going to get consistently amazing

Aaron's reaction to "Ryan, stab somebody" has shown me that somebody on this panel (besides Eric obviously) finally understands what this show is and why it continues to thrive. @@BakerReviews Fast and The Furious has also had movies for 20+ years now, and those aren't good films. Sunny has been going a long time now, but doesn't change the comedy is really shit. Also if really wanna pull the fanbase card, Season 15 had a peak of 0.318 mil watchers. And then for another sitcom, B99 season 7 (not using final season since often those are people tuning in just to see the end. But it had a peak of 2.018 mil) had a peak of 2.658 mil. A tiny fraction of the people. Its not a very watched show. Shit comedy, that not a lot of people even like. Just cause its gone a long time doesn't add any to "hey maybe something there". Its a beaten dead horse, that not many watch. Hell even shows like The Flash would pull in double the viewers by the end of the show, when it was written off by most

One of the plot holes in this show that bothers me the most is that Dee held the shotgun and even cocked it at one point, yet couldn't tell it was rubber? It was before the internet and if you lived say in Denver, but wore a Planet Hollywood jacket "London" then that meant you went to London, for a long time there was only like Paris, London, NY, LA so it was a 80's trend for about 10 years. Then Planet Hollywood expanded to almost every big city so the value and status dropped. Early days also had original Elvis guitars, none of it was fake, idk if the memorabilia ever was fake, it was the whole reason to visit each one, as say London would have Beatles, LA terminator jacket, etc
