She was subconsciously thinking about the photo of her and beth she got on the other earth and had said something about wishing she'd known her like that instead. Now she can. The thing that bothers me the most about this show is that it's so morally bankrupt, it's not even funny. The show LITERALLY has Kate let a criminal go...BECAUSE SHE'S GAY. What kind of b.s. is this?! I thought Kate Kane was supposed to be a superhero just like Batman? So, what gives? Not to mention, the show kind of baits us with the idea that Kate is going to have serious moment where she reflects on how she let her sister go and how many lives she's (supposedly unintentionally) helped Alice destroy. Although, to her credit, she does actually apprehend Alice by the end of the show where Batwoman comes out of the closet. But that's beside the point, since only moments before that she let a criminal go because of her sexuality. So, in the end, her effort to be a hero is rendered pointless because she lets this gay girl go because she's gay just like her instead of taking her to face justice like Batman would! Christ almighty, this show is frustrating and so are the people who like it. Because, throughout most of reddit AND KZbin, the vast majority of the people who actually watch this show aren't even talking about that. Where's the criticism of the hypocrisy?! Where?! C'mon people, we're better than this.

The actor playing the doctor that Mary talks to is Sebastian Roche. He's done alot of things, but on the CW he's had recurring roles on Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Supernatural! He's a great actor. IMO I don't believe that they would cast him for a small role and for just 1 scene. I think there might be more to him in future episodes.

The Beth at the end was a doppelganger. She is the Beth from Earth 99, the one with the Bruce Wayne who wore the exoskeleton. Kara gave Kate a photo she took from his mansion of Kate & that Beth together. That Beth never became Alice. The doppelgangers are just appearing, & are not supposed to exist, yet they do.

It was woke, on the nose and terrible writing. Compare this to Doom Patrol to compare covering the same issue of being in the closet in a world not accepting of it and tell me this was very well done. I cried at Doom Patrol LGBT storyline, this made me face palm. Kate letting a national level hacker get away so easily (another Mary Sue no less) after consequences of leniency from doing so with Alice is a slap in the face to having a 'strong LGBT hero' as that was unjustifiable how dumb that was (she after being outed nearly killed HUNDREDS of innocent people) and now if anyone wants to figure out identity just narrow it down to mega rich lesbians who could be Batwoman and all of a sudden what's left of her family are at r is just to be out in open after declaring HERSELF in same episode it's annoying people only caring who she is sleeping with. There was no logic to this episode at all, it was SJW writing all right whether you like to admit it or not. If they try this again I hope someone else writes it. Again Doom Patrol did it so well I can't justify bad scripts just because it is inclusive.

During Crisis, after Kate and Kara got back from visiting Bruce, and discovering he wasn't the Paragon of Courage, Kara showed Kate a photograph she had gotten from Bruce's mansion -- it was of Kate and Beth -- with that brown haircut with the bangs. And one of them said something to the effect of "I wish I/you could've known that Beth." So this was very much teased beforehand.

My theory about the new timeline is that, except stated otherwise, everything happened more or less among the same lines as in the original, except maybe stuff that involves other earth. (Since the multiverse has been reshuffled). I can also imagine that for example the nuking of haven rock didn't happen because one of the supes stopped the missile. (Though of coure like every shared superhero universe, there is the whole "Superman stays out of Gotham"-trope. I wonder if the DEO and Argus are working together.

As explained in the episode, Alice is playing some sick game with Kate so she won't kill Sophie because she knows that Kate is still in love with her so if she did, Kate would hate her and her plan (whatever it is) will not work. Why she didn't kill Sophie's husband? I don't know.

Aaron, I can appreciate that you as a straight male wouldn't necessarily understand why the coming out of Batwoman, and the entire exchange with Parker was a huge deal. As someone who was that kid? It meant the world. I don't care that I graduated from high school 20 years ago. I had Xena and Gabrielle, and even that wasn't canon until after I was out of school. It's on the nose because it still needs to be. People need to understand that there are kids (granted, it's predominantly super religious, but not always) that this is happening to TODAY. I find it interesting that Rachel Maddow's character used a line that Rachel herself would never do, as a lesbian herself. Making that comment about Batwoman being gay being a political thing. Finally, with the Beth + Alice thing, I'm guessing she's from Earth 38 and for some reason ended up on Earth Prime. Maybe one of the things that they find in this week's Supergirl episode (which of course that review is up so I know you've already seen) is the cause.

Doesn't make sense for this to be crisis related, all the other changes from crisis were integrated into people's memories (as evidenced by people knowing flash and supergirl existing in the same earth). If Crisis changed so that Beth didn't "die" and become Alice then everyone (except Kate) would have memories of Beth as being alive this whole time. I think something wonky is going on. Hopefully it gets explained. She might be from another earth but how did she get here?

Alice in the comics has some good storytelling and I think the network won't be passing up on that since she (and Skarsten) are the strongest points of the show atm. She's the embodiment of madness and redemption in the original source material. Plus, just giving Kate what she wants just because 'Crisis' is jumping the shark.

Mediocre episode imo . Kate has never been ashamed to be who she is so the contradiction of her having to hide who she is or atleast a big part of herself to the world is an interesting conflict to an extent and I thought this episode delved into that well . Her being gay is a big part of her character ( without being her entire character) so her outing Batwoman publicly after the impetus given by a girl who was forcefully outed and rejected by her parents was a nice moment .. it showed that representation does matter . However ,Kate’s sexuality and love life has been the least interesting part of her character and show for me so this personally didn’t do much to hold my attention ( though hopefully the LGBTQ community see this and feel inspired genuinely ). The stuff with most of the other characters was fine . I’m glad that Kate has pretty much disowned Alice to her face and I hope with her capture that we can be done with that character for awhile even though I enjoy her . I also felt bad for Mary and i hope her relationship with Kate gets stronger , especially with the twist at the end. That cliffhanger threw me for a loop .. so there’s a doppelgänger of Beth now on this world , this really shakes up the show and I’m looking forward to seeing that!!.
