Update: Just learned that its not the plastic panzer 4 but actually an old resin one with no weapon options!

That's not true, you get two gun barrel options. The eary war howiter and a medium anti-tank gun with some midwar turret options.

The part of the hobby that I would say most youtubers miss is the cinimatic, fun part of the hobby. It is not all about math, winning and optimizing. For all you kids out there, the hobby is more than winning. Make up house rules, play a fluffy campaign, bring more than one tank. The game is limited by your imagination. Also I want to say that I really like your vids Mordian, watch all your Bolt Action and some of your IG/WH40K vids. Keep up the good work!

It's really easy to make the MMG team from what's in the box: an MG34 with just a loader in a squad is an LMG, but an MG34 with a loader and a spotter (guy with binoculars) on there own is an MMG. Personally I like using the gunner from the hanomag, building a little wall or pile of ruble for him to brace the gun on.

The price difference between the africa core and the blitzkrieg boxes must come from the resin early panzer IV and metal light artillery peice. They're pricey nowadays. The africa core box is almost all plastic and I think it's sweet they give you a discount for that.

Is it a resin Pz4 or the plastic one? I just assumed it was the plastic kit!

@@MordianGlory Its sadly a resin one. Its an old starter that needs updating.

@@MordianGlory Nope the long barrel F,G,H is plastic anything else that is either a Pz IV or based off it is a metal resin kit. But someone really does need to bring out a short barrel (Early war) Pz IV though in plastic.

Although they are not as wonky as the 1st Ed. Renedra German kits or 1st Ed. American/Brit Italeri. This Blitzkrieg German kit is a fairly iffy Italeri kit. Primarily from poor resolution and production flaws.(The head with the sharp chin has a warped eye socket, plastic surface has little warped wrinkles, rifles may come out smooth with no texture, hands look like mittens.) I have helped build nearly dozen armies with this kit and getting an update cant come soon enough. Rare to see flaws in modern Warlord plastics, which says a bit about this one. Keep in mind I approach this from a modelers point of view. If you just want to play the game asap with quick shades, its still a decent kit considering.

This kit is beginning to show its age to be honest. I love the look of the 1939 Heer (because of all the plastic army men I had as a kid and those old war movies) but the sprues really haven't aged well.... Call me crazy but I actually prefer a resin tank over a plastic one however to that's a point in its favour... It's still the weakest German starter army but I kinda love it.... Get it if you doing care about competitive play.... Though the afrika korps is better (and my personal favorite) and the winter army is probably the best especially for competitive (though the uniforms are a little dull)..

I used the Blitzkrieg Germans as DAK before the Warlord Games DAK models came out. They are very decent for early war but they are old models. The DAK models are one of the more recent releases. The difference between the DAK and Blitzkrieg models is night and day. That 88 in the DAK set is a beast. I wasn't very impressed with the metal mortar team or the PAK 38 I got extra. They need to update these models in plastic.

I recommend Rubicon Models for models Warlord doesn't have or that are metal or resin. Rubicon's models are a great alternative.

I don't quite agree with you. If you buy this set, you commit yourself to early war. I personally rather had a Pz IIi instead of a IV D, but I don't mind. However, if you want this army to cross over into midwar, it's not to difficult. Just buy a box of winter germans and start mixing models. Germans wore the jackboot till at least mid '43 and the overcoat is always available. Just don't use the furcaps and the heads with a sjawl around it. Good video though.

I just picked u mt starter set as a total begineer! How many leaders am I suppose to make out of this set? One for each spue set? Kind of confused . I don;t have access to the rule set yet. Im going to guess one Head Honcho for the whole set?

Their newer starter sets are much better value. These older ones are weirdly expensive. The DAK and 8th army starter sets can be had for under £70.
