Random fact, my grandpa was an extra in this movie - He worked for the Illinois State government and filming for Legally Blonde 2 took place shortly after 9/11, so filming at the capitol wasn't really an option... so they filmed at the Illinois state capitol instead and used employees as extras. You can see him several times during Elle's big speech to the house. He nods a lot XD

I had an undergrad professor who answered a call from his wife during lecture and then proceeded to argue with her for several minutes while all 200 of us just sat there and watched. It was a mess
@pythonjava62283 жыл бұрын
In Kenya, the professor would 100% answer his phone in class and speak casually to his students about his personal relationships. It's actually super weird. I knew way too much about my teacher's marriages and sex life. And this behavior starts in primary school

My favorite part of this movie is the nearly perpetual halo of pink light that seems to follow Elle wherever she goes...in a car during daylight with top down, pink halo, presenting your new case to your partners, pink halo....

It's the writing. It just went so beyond reality in just about everything, wears whereas the first one was more realistic even when it was stretched a bit.

Okay, so (A) Leeja, you could be the next Judge Judy, if you like, you’re brilliant and dry and got the it factor. (B) This film potentially got people interested in actual democratic process. (C) Legislation for the protection of animal rights as a main topic for a Hollywood film at any time is still inspiring and sadly needed more today. (D) Never give up hope, that’s what drives change for truth (you all already know this right?) It’s still a great movie duh ❤✨

@@LeejaMiller I'm curious if during the course of these kind of reactions, you could comment on what would and wouldn't be considered professional attire for women today. (Yes, I know there's a double standard, and I'm curious about where it is now.) I edited a book for college students years ago about getting a job lined up after college, and at that point, it was still not appropriate for women to dress like Ally McBeal in court or in job interviews. So the author had to make a point about that to help young women avoid faux pas that could derail their career paths at the outset. But I also know the culture continues to change on this point. So I'd love to hear your realistic fashion (not legal) advice to women in court and the work place. I also recall when I knew some lawyers who helped poor women in court that a big part of what they demanded from clients was about wardrobe. No woman being defended in court could wear anything even slightly sexy - it was a very big deal that they dress in the frumpiest thing they could find. I'm curious if this has been studied and if it has changed.

Don't know if someone mentioned it here, but you talked about timeline and that was the biggest issue with this movie for me. It takes place in 2003, yet Elle only graduated in 2004, so she was actually still a student and not engaged to Emmett. To make matters even worse, Reese Witherspoon is the sole executive producer of the sequel, so she was aware in multiple levels of how... unique?... she was in it.
