His performance is amazing. He goes from being optimistic and hopeful to just feeling utterly defeated. A man who truly believed in non-violence who now can't argue against the alternative.

Straight White British Protestant Shows what you know, you ignoramus. Innocent civilians were murdered that day, and the British establishment lied and covered it up for decades. Get a clue, moron.
@bladerunner91295 жыл бұрын
StargazerNorth1 unfortunately they did try to cover up killings of innocents and should be held accountable. At the same time, there are many sources confirming that the IRA opened fire before the soldiers started. IRA were Murderers that used Bloody Sunday as a recruitment open day. Anyone that seeks to Justify murders on either side are the reason why this country has been unable to move on. Disgraceful

The 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday is next Saturday. Remember that the march was formed and held to protest the recent introduction of Internment, which gave the police and the army to arrest and hold people suspected of "terrorism" indefinitely and without charges. This film should be mandatory viewing.

It's interesting you say that. This film is a dishonest piece of IRA propaganda but I thought Nesbitt seemed a nice enough bloke. Why did you come to the conclusion that he was an "immature, unprofessional jerk".

My father told me about crowds of people down in small town Tipperary burning Union Jacks, burning effigies and, of course, people cueing up to fight for the cause after they saw what happened that day. It's a horrifying scar on the Irish psyche but if I'm honest with myself, I'd probably be there with them...

So it was just a coincidence that in every colony the 'Empire' held, when the indigenous peoples decided to stand up for their own rights, such massacres happened. Just a twist of fate, aye?

I agree! Another incident worth mentioning is the Mau Mau rebellion. When tens of thousands of Kenyans died, hundreds of thousands were held in British run concentration camps, and thousands more were besten, raped, and tortured that was just extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't dream of excusing their behavior. Not like there's a pattern of Britian brutalizing indigenous peoples on their on land!
