The cue to keep shoulders pinned/down and back.. to push your body into the bench... and to drive the crease of your elbows together pretty much explains what he's trying to say. Cues to a perfect bench press while avoiding injury. This applies to all presses.

Serious question, maybe a silly question.. but why would someone not do the full movement on a chest press and leave out the bottom stretched position, which even Mike says is important and is uncomfortable.
@gzuz1118 Жыл бұрын
Just for myself to be 110% clear, you’re basically doing a micro-reset by shifting your whole ribcage/sternum up while initiating the press? Is there any detriment to trying to keep it fixed in an upward position? Or is that sternum/ribcage reset more of a cue? I love your content Mike, you’ve helped improved basically all of my lifts, i had no idea how shitty they all were lmao

@@donyellmcgee8236 Actually if one was to emphazise upper pecks and did only such exercises one would have around 40 percent larger upper pecks than any other section of their pecks. One can also differentiate their training of their upper pecks into outer upper pecks, inner, mid upper pecks, inner upper pecks ! Sure there'll be even more ''cross training'' more than upper-other parts, but still you can emphazise each of the outer, mid, inner sections of the upper pec. Crazy isn't it. Just train!, is the bodybuilting equilavent of a diet concept ''just eat! ''

It really punctuates just how different bodybuilding is to powerlifting or any other form of lifting. Amazing stuff🤌🏿

Just like your quad extensions. you want people to roll there joints that don't roll. Don't listen to this guy when he says roll your shoulders or knees he will get you hurt and mess your joints up. Especially if you're lifting heavy. He has some good advice but he isn't a professional in body mechanics or movements. He was a pro but not a good one and not one that lasted that long. Also Mike I'm still waiting for you to slap yourself from that namaste, video. Comment left there.
@DanBatista Жыл бұрын
Dude, go watch the guys you find helpful. Most of us are here because Mike's instruction has been (and continues to be) very helpful. We don't care about his credentials.
@jswoleinyourhole2864 Жыл бұрын
@@DanBatista well I can see the type of people that are following him. You don't care about his credentials nor do you care if he's telling you something that's going to hurt you. If your shoulder was meant to hold a load and rotate, you'd be able to do a 360 with your shoulder. If your knee was meant to roll inwards, your knee would be more flexible. Your shoulder lifts your arm up straight in front of you and out to the sides. It doesn't roll inwards your knee is like your elbow. It's meant to bend your leg not roll. He is going to get somebody hurt and maybe it's going to be you. You should watch who you follow. Don't be a follower, be a leader and use logic. Let's use Hunter labrada as an example. He is a better pro and has had generations of bodybuilders to help him. He recently did a leg video. When he's doing the leg extension he talks about keeping his femur straight and his toes and legs straight because it's less stress to the knees and joints. This makes sense to roll them does not.
@jswoleinyourhole2864 Жыл бұрын
@@DanBatista Also, this guy Mike is just an idiot. First off he made a video titled no mass day. Where he said that he hates when people take other people's cultures (talking about motorcycles), and rips them off and that he wants to slap them when he sees it. when he titled his video nomassday literally ripping off Namaste and taking their culture and ripping it off. So I'm waiting for him to slap himself. Then he starts this video where he says. Do you want to work out less hard and get results faster? Teasing that people are lazy but in reality if he had a good channel he would teach you to do things the right way where you wouldn't get hurt and where you would literally because you're doing things right. Not have to work as hard as when you do things wrong and have to learn and would grow faster because you started doing things the right way. His whole mentality is that of a child? No wonder the best job he had was protecting a chump who thinks he's a gangster who was a Nickelodeon character and an actor acting as if he's tough now, Mike's going around acting like he knows what he's talking about. Both are very obviously not what they're pretending to be.
