i love your videos! they're so helpful. this is completely unrelated to the video, but i find that silicones in shampoos and conditioners make my hair really shiny and soft, but they also make my scalp itchy. i've tried using only conditioners with silicones, but i'm a swimmer and my hair is really dry, so i usually have to put conditioner on my scalp too, therefore making it itchy. what should i do?

The invention of the blow dry brush is the greatest thing that ever happened to my hair. I have very long, curly, thick and coarse hair. It would take me two and a half hours to blow dry it straight. And to keep it straight I would have to wrap it around my head at night. Miami girl so the humidity is real. Last year I treated myself to the Revlon brush. Saw so much hype on You Tube about it. When I say it was life changing I am not kidding. Now I can dry my whole head in thirty minutes versus two and a half hours. Plus my hair stays basically straight for a week - in Miami humidity. The only flaw is it gets super hot. So definitely use a heat protectant. If anyone is on the fence about purchasing a blow dry brush.....stop hesitating and go and buy one. It will transform your life❗❗❗

I got a Hot Tools one (basically a Revlon one in different colours) and it has been a game changer for my doing my hair. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in both my wrists so using this is so much easier on my wrists than using a blow dryer and round brush. I still alternate between the two but my wrists don’t get as sore as often. I also wash my hair every 3 days.

@@sharonperry8978 It must be so difficult to blow dry your hair with rheumatoid arthritis. I have carpal tunnel in both hands so I totally get it. I do not miss the days of using a brush and section-by-section blow drying my long hair. It took forever and was exhausting. I am glad the both of us discovered the blow-dry brushes and made our lives so much easier. Now only if we could find other things to make our life easier wouldn't that be great? 😄

I lost my son ( stillbirth after medical mistake) in 2019 and wrecked my hair after that by neglect and then I bleached and fried off my natural golden blonde. If I could meet you in person, I would totally give you a big hug! Your channel has helped me so much in just the short time I have been watching it. I have had hair thinning since probably about 14 and am 38 now. It started to get worse after several miscarriages the last couple of years and I also lost my father 💔. I had the worst experience 2 years ago. The hair dresser was terrible to me. She came late, but I am a very understanding person. She proceeded to be rude to me about what I was asking for, telling me I would, "need more than that" and, "no one told me I was giving you higlights". Again, I am a very patient person, so I tolerate a lot. What I couldn't take was even after telling her why my hair was suffering with the losses ect, she continued to give me a health lesson and took a mirror and laughed at the state of my hair. "I mean look at it. What happened to it?" It was very invasive. I felt so hurt. I stayed for the appointment cause I was desperate to get my hair done being a busy mother of 2. There is good that came out of that day though. Because of that incident, I don't let people treat me any which way and I gained a back bone. I also have took the time to learn so much about hair care and hair health. Your channel has taught me so much about hair care even down to the correct way to wash my hair. I started using the redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner along with some hair oils and my hair has improved so much. I feel like I'm sounding dramatic, but you have helped my confidence drastically! Thank you for all the help that you give!

@AuroraCarlisle
@AuroraCarlisle Жыл бұрын
I shower daily but shower cap my hair. Make sure you’re using a shower cap that is lined! Also, for the edges of my hair that usually get wet, I put on a spa headband first (the type with the Velcro) and put the cap on over it. This creates a bit of a seal against water IME. I also make a loose bun with a silk scrunchie to keep my hair from falling out of the edges. I have a widows peak so my hairline isn’t perfectly straight but this routine keeps my style in place.

We trust you, Chris, but it’s the same as to watch what colour you personally like more. b) We need to know particular criteria used for making the decision and more investigation. Amika is not trustive as their round volumising brush stops working after 6 months according the reviews everywhere and Babyliss one looks and feels cheap, Revlon and Drybar are loud, hair stuck in the connection of the top and the barrel of the Drybar etc.

Just bought the revlon pro 2.0 one, the updated version of the one in this video and used it for the first time today and I really liked it. Luckily I have thin hair and not much of it so it doesn’t take long to dry it so it’s not exposed to the heat for long. I use it on the low setting and it still gets pretty hot so I can’t even imagine what the hot feels like (and I don’t even want to try) or what the old one felt like where lots of people complained about how hot it got. I wouldn’t say it gave my hair lots and lots of volume (my hair is naturally really flat anyway) but it did look great and did have more volume compared to air drying. I’ve noticed too before I bought this that when I used a normal blow dryer, it actually made my hair really flat and I think it’s because it was just blowing my hair all over the place where as with the blow dry brush, as you say, having that tension and pulling and making sure you’re starting from the root down really helps to lift the hair and give it volume with the heat. It’s directing the hair while drying instead of drying it all over the place which is what happened to me with a normal blow dryer.

One thing that you mentioned is that a couple of the brushes are exactly the same. And in fact it’s just branding. If I recall the dry bar brush is made by the same company that owns revlon, Helen of Troy. And I believe hot tools is as well. There’s very little difference between most of these besides color and branding. The one that stood out is the paddle brush, as most of the brushes are oval and not paddles. I did wonder about t3 being “better” for your hair because it is a bit more advanced in the tech. I a,so wonder if the airwrap is less damaging because of the Dyson tech. I loved the revlon but had to stop because it really damaged my hair. I switched to a regular Dyson hairdryer and my hair is healthier but now there are so many tools it’s annoying!

After much deliberation, I purchased the Revlon One Step Volumizer. I have alot of naturally curly fine hair. In the summer, I air dry with curls, but in winter, I need faster solutions! After leave in conditioner, I partially dry the roots and then use the brush on low setting with tension to sectioned hair. When done, I use the cool (cool shot) setting and it calms all of the new growth down. It's a life saver for me. When done, I spray macadamia nut oil and pull it to the ends. Voila! My hair has volume, is soft with little frizz and minimal breakage. Why Chris, is the cool shot feature under used and under rated feature for frizzy hair? Thx😊

I had the original Revlon and loved it but I it ruined my hair. Their latest model has heat settings that the original did not. it was way too hot for my fairly thin hair. I may give the new model a try.

Okay, Blowout prof ... this is all great for someone who is going to spend 45 (at least) minutes on their hair ... blow-drying, product, more blow-drying, more product, more styling heat via whatever curling or straightening tool, more product, ... Jeebus on a stick. So how about you make some videos for those of us who don't want to take all that time or use all that crap on our hair? I'm 56. I have a beautiful silver in the front that transitions to salt and pepper in the back. You know your stuff? Riddle me this: My hair cannot tolerate oils or masks or conditioners. I have baby hair. That's changing slowly as I age, but it's still mostly baby hair ... and it's gone curly since menopause ... and the white bits don't curl like the pepper parts. If I add moisture to the ash blond parts, it flattens the silver parts so that they don't curl. The silver bits will curl if they're dry, but the ash blonde bits freak out. What say you, pro Bro? Moisture works on the 1/3 of my hair that's still dark ash blonde, but kills the curl on the other 2/3 of my hair. Let the silver bits go dry so that they curl nicely, and the ash parts freak out and are straight and ugly. I'm a purist and low maintenance and I'm happy to use a blow dryer, but I'm not going to spend the money on product. The cost of these products are stupid. To that, I've tried a few products and none of them correct all of my issues as I have two totally different textures of hair. So, blowout prof ... Do you actually know your stuff? Enough to help me with my issue? I haven't found anyone else that can.

Hi Chris, in most of your videos you have recommended Revlon blow dry brush so between this Amika brush and Revlon you suggest Amika is better for thin hair?

Chris, I love watching your videos and have learned so much from you!!! I have fine shoulder length hair, and was wondering if you would recommend the Drybar single shot or the half shot.

I have kinky curls so I use the hot brush when my hair is wet, it gets much smoother that way. Is is bad that I am using it while wet? not dripping wet but out of the shower. And what brush do you recommend for volume but high heat cause my hair is curly. Thank You

What about rotating styling brushes? I picked one up at a TJMaxx for nearly nothing that lasted nearly 5 years. It had a 3-inch ceramic barrel, mixed boar bristles, 3 heat settings plus cool shot and an extra long cord. It turned super smoothly. Sadly, it finally died, and I couldn't find an identical replacement. I did find different one from a well-known brand that isn't remotely as good.

Great video. Do you recomend the rotating blow dry brushes? I find them easy to use, because they dry and brush at the same time, but still have hard time doing the roots flyaways.

I've had the Drybar Brush for a little more than a year now and my hair is long and fine but curly. I find the smaller bristles on the Drybar brush started bending after only the first few uses and now they are basically completelt bent which doesnt help for the smoothing aspect of the blow dry brush. I really wish the bristles were more stiff.

I’m hoping you can do a video of a woman who has a Lisa Rinna hair style. Most of the videos are people long hair. I am curious how you would style someone with her cut, pre dry, blow dry brush, curling iron? She has so much volume on top, how to get it and how to keep it for a couple of days. I have to use so much spray.

Possibly the worst ever hair drying method you could do for fine hair. It literally shredded my fine hair and now I have a ton of breakage. Do not buy any of these blow dry brushes instead. Stick with a regular hair dryer so much better.

What about the L'ange blow dryer brushes? There's the regular one and now they have one that is shaped like a tear drop to get closer to the roots. How does that one compare to the Revlon?

Bought drybar double shot a year ago and fell in love with it. But I returned it because the cost of $155 I just couldn't get over it. Found it yesterday, March 2024, for $55 at Marshalls ❤. ❤😊. It also included complimentary hair care products. They had one new in a sealed box. Guess who took that one home 😀😀😀

So, which blow dry brush do you recommend for shorter hair? I used the revlon one step yesterday for the first time, and currently my hair is about 1/2 an inch above my shoulders, very fine, naturally curly but mostly worn straight, and FINALLY not sporting very much damage at all, even after a major incident a couple years ago causing a lot of my hair to basically just melt off. ( my hair is doing so much better now, with a huge thanks to your videos and heaven sent hair care routine recommendations 😅🙏🏼). I prepped with a leave in conditioner after my shower, small amount of argan oil just on my ends while hair was still wet, wrapped smoothly and tightly with microfiber towel till it was damp, as i like to avoid as much heat as possible whenever possible. Then followed with kenra blow dry spray, and then finally the revlon one step. While i absolutely fell in love with how soft, healthy and shiny my hair looked, that barrel is rather large, when working with short hair. So there ended up being a LOT of flipping out at the ends, mostly in different ways as i used tension in just about every direction, to keep the movement and not have my bob looking so…flat and stuck in one place, as it sometimes likes to do. I stopped once i felt my hair start warming up, but at that point i didn’t really want to have to use my flat iron, as that’s just more heat. So, I’m on the hunt for a smaller barreled one, but with comparable results. Any recommendations?
