It really does make recurves a snap. I haven't had an issue with any blade types other than a tanto. With the belts putting on a convex grind it rounds the point where the two bevels meet.

I have the KO knife and tool sharpener and love it and have some questions. How many times on each side? Also Don’t you continue with a fine grit and a final leather honing? Towards the end you showed an example using a semi serrated blade that you showed moving across the belt the complete length of the blade on both sides which is contrary to the instructions that accompany the KO sharpener. Have you found that to work better?
@Brian424
@Brian424 2 жыл бұрын
He was using the semi serrated blade at the end as just an example of how to move a straight edged blade while sharpening as compared to the wavy motion used when sharpening the recurve blade. He did say "imagine this is a straight blade minus the serrations". I think it was the only non-recurve blade he had handy.

Real nice video series, friend! My new KO sharpener is in transit. Can/will you sharpen a lawnmower blade on this sharpener?
@BlueCollarSurvival

I tried a lawnmower blade on here but it really chews up the belts. I stick to a bench grinder for them. Thanks Ron

Blue Collar Survival I just got my KO sharpener, the attachment and other attachment too (whatever it’s called). I sharpened a few old knives and and I’m impressed! Next up, I have no idea. But my knives are sharp as hell!! Thanks and be well!!

Can you do a recurve knife without having the extra attachment?

Probably but it'll be a little trickier. I do believe it can be done.

You could always practice using the least course belt you have. I actually went to a thrift store and bought a bunch of different knives for $1 each to practice on and fix chips and tips. Even found a $150 Wusthof for a buck. Fixed tip and use all the time. Going to try my kukri and a hatchet today. Karambit doesn't need work so haven't tried yet
