I have the exact problem for more than 5 years in my Hummer H3. The difference is my car will start after trying many times. And this affected the starter motor, in the last 2 years I changed it 4 times. So, I’ll check the fuel tank but do I have to change the fuel bump also?

I was able to program the used pcm he put in from the Malibu to the hhr. The previous owner jump started it backwards

Man - I wish I understood what you were saying - lol - I have a Hummer H3 and I am just about ready to toss it. That darn security light comes on and I can't get the car started. If I follow as best I could - you bought gasoline - put it in a jar and poured it into somewhere while you were cranking the vehicle? I was actually searching for ways to hot wire it so it could by pass the security feature. Any detailed info you can give me as the owner trying to fix this would be awesome. Best wishes!

p.s. the dealer fixed it the last time... they said the had to have the Hummer 're-learn' the theft bypass

I have a no crank no start issue on my 2007 H3. The gear selector indicators on the dash do not light up and I can not release shifter from park the button is locked. Any ideas where to look? I was told if the gear indicator on dash does not light it will not release the shifter or let vehicle start.

AWESOME Brian, so the GAS was contaminated and dirty did that damage the fuel pump or not and what is about the gas lines did they get flashed and did u check the pressure before u took gas sample wonder how that gas get contaminated brother enjoyable as always brother thanks for sharing.

They need to drain tank and flush the lines. I have had more than a handful of contaminated fuel systems that draining tank, flushing lines takes care of it. Note sure if how they are handling rest of the job.

Not sure, but I would be looking into bcm , powers and grounds.

Putting your car neutral can bypass any car security starting issue I dealt with that once before.

Very well explained 👍 My 2006 hummer h3 wont start. Once a months .I wait 10 min no less then it will start,,I pretty sure its security lock ? I was told that even if I replace the key lock it will Most likely still happen. Would really appreciate your advice thanks

I think on that model year the pass lock system is in the ignition switch itself, they do fail and cause the problem you have intermittently. I would replace that fisrt. Also check for water leaking onto the bcm I believe I have seen these have issues of all sorts from getting wet.

Yea part numbers are different. We tried last night with sps it didn’t work. So he’s Giotto try and find one used with same part number

Sorry another question for you. How would you program a used radio for a 2011 hhr? My buddy has a 2010 Malibu he’s using for parts he’s replacing the radio that was stolen in his hhr. I told him I think the bcm burns the vin into it so told him I’d have to get back to him later on it

Part number has to be valid for the vin , if not it probably will be a no go

Check for voltage to be present on both sides of the fuse in reference to ground at all times.

Seems like I have had this problem so many times. It is mostly a sensor. Sometimes it's a battery. It gets very aggravating because it happens a lot. Everytime I fix it, it does it again a month later. I will never buy another hummer-ever!!!
