Just picked up the ‘24 allocation for my CGTS 4.0 MT in shark blue last month and it’s been a blast to daily! I’m glad you went with the best color!

I thought about it this way: what color would best complement the Valencia Orange? And blue was an obvious choice :)

Bought my 1M in 2011 and then went to a 981S and now I’m in a 718 CGTS. The 1M is in storage now. You have chosen wisely.

Gotcha. It's a bit of an unfair comparison but here we go... Driver's controls are all perfect. Seating position better. Clutch sprung more heavily and it's easier to manage shifts etc. The BMW clutch seems to have a region where I seem to lack input. Steering lacks roadfeel but compensates by being quicker and more precise. I swear I can actually feel the slickness of the road after rain with the 1M mechanical rack. Engine and exhaust noises are ALMOST as good as the 981S's pops and crackles which I really miss. Haven't put the CGTS on a track yet but I felt more confident in the 981S bc it was easier to predict. Of course the snappiness is precisely why the 1M is such a hoot. Appearance. Tough call. The 1M just looks special. The Porsche looks special too, but everybody expects that. The 1M is not a great car for road trips despite having all that storage space. In 6th gear you're at 3k+ rpm. The CGTS on a road trip can do duty as a GT car. If you don't want to drop that kind of money on a CGTS I think you'd be just fine with a 981S. Prices have stabilized after going back up. I got mine used at a low point and sold it at a high point meaning that I recovered 90% of my principal after 5+ years. It helped that the car was a manual with every performance option available other than PCCB. There are good driver's spec cars out there but it took me a year of F5ing the used inventory screen. The dealership flipped my car in 12 hours. Truth be told though, if I could drive the 1M more, I would. The problem is the rarity and the fact that every time I go out, people are sweating the car. Work at the dealership practically halts every time I go by bc they all come over to take a look at the car. I guess we will have to console ourselves in P-cars, huh? LOL Congrats on your allocation. I wasn't sure I'd get one and was planning on staying in the 981S. Sometimes the car gods smile on us!

Congrats! Took delivery of my gentian blue BGTS 4.0 6spd this week- currently at the shop awaiting ppf, I had a manual Supra and loved it but wanted something more drivers oriented and I also ordered without a test drive 😅

Great video! Super informative!! I have a cayman gts 4.0 ordered, not yet at the freeze point. I have the pasm included. Can you please elaborate why you omitted pasm?

This is why: PASM raises ride height of 10 mm in relation to the standard -20 mm suspension. The stiffer anti-roll bars are replaced with softer 718 GTS anti-roll bars. So I wanted to keep the sportier suspension specific to GTS models. What color did you get?

Have you seen it in person? Color is subjective, so don't listen to me. But I saw it in real life and loved it under the sun, but looked dull in the night. Then again, I like flashy colors so it was in the end between Guards Red or Shark Blue.

Horatiu you picked a nice car and spec!! in 2025 Cayman and Boxster will go EV. Received my CGTS 4.0 this month agate grey-GTS carmine red interior- full bucket seat- manual. Have you thought to trade it in if you can get a GT4RS or a SpyderRS allocation at MSRP? I am thinking those are more special cars and will depreciate less over time. Looking forward to your GTS 4.0 new videos and it would be nice if you can review a GT4RS or SpyderRS.

I could have probably gotten a GT4RS at MSRP, but not sure I want one. First, it's so expensive, second, as a daily driver, it's an overkill. Unlikely I would track it. Will do a review soon of the CGTS in the context of other BMW products. Congrats on your spec also, I debated on that combo too

I am in the same predicament. Have a manual buckets GTS 4.0. I think I will miss the manual though. That’s the hang up. If I was able to get a GT4 while they were still making them I probably wouldn’t be having a dilemma

its so easy, one is a Cayman S with bigger engine and the other is Limited edition 1M - M Car... Which one will worth more after 20 years ??? Exactly !

In all fairness, the GTS is more than just an S. That 4.0 liter is a gem
