When he was still an unknown, playing around at bars and parks around Saginaw, MI. I was 16 with a fake ID and we danced and rocked out right there not 6 feet from him. He's my all time favorite which is funny cuz I was more Simon and Garfunkel, Melanie, Dylan, Cat Stevens, etc. Those memories are priceless looking back at the shit we got away with just because we never asked for permission!! LOL. While I'm at it I also called Kris Kristofferson at the Holiday Inn off Bay Rd the day/night of my sisters wedding and let my mom talk to him because we had to miss his show and my mom and brother loved him, Willie, Emmy Lou, Waylon, etc. Couldn't get away with that nowadays, either. Different world. Famous rich people now. Anybody from Michigan remember a band called SRC (Scot Richard Case)? I wonder where they ended up. Good times. Just wanted to say I never met or partied or knew them personally just came close a few times.

Bob, Ive loved your music forever...I’m 62, and my daughter took me to see you only a few months after my Son committed suicide, in May 2019. It was my 1st time seeing you and I just was overcome. I need to tell you that it’s my family who was murdered in 1968, the Robisons..we’ve come full circle an rent a little Bliss cabin in Good Hart, very close to their vacant property. We are 4 Sisters who have dreamed to meet you on the beach, and maybe sit and talk around the campfire...my sisters friend Mary Kay Lala sang back up for you, years ago. This particular song means so very much to us. (In Your Time) All of the words ring true to us. We’re going there, this summer...we would love to just thank you for this particular song, which means the world to us. Please PM me If you might be up in the most blessed of places on earth...please, we’ve been goi g up there since 2008, it happened in 1968...it’s been so many years. We feel like we’ve come full circle in so many ways....this would mean the world to us Sisters to finally meet you, after all these years. Blessings to you Bob! The Robison Nieces love you dearly.

My father sent me this just a few months before he passed unexpectedly in his sleep. He was only 60. I never got to say goodbye but in a way he did. He never was a " Show his emotions with hugs etc." But he always had a perfect song and this one hit hard! Miss you dad!!!

You, Mr Bob Seger have indeed written about my family, in 1968, murdered in Good Hart. My oldest sisters friend, Mary Kay LaLa sang back-up for you In the 70’s.. We consider this OUR song. Robison Family Murders June 1968

Some song writers talk about how quickly they write a song. Bob Seger said that he found it difficult and would take long periods of time on a song. Well, I would say that time, thought, and effort produced incredible songs like this one. Thank you, Bob Seger.

I juust love the sax solo in the middle here!!!!! Just sounds so melodic and peaceful!!! Perhaps my favorite instrument out there of all time!!! I wanted to become a musician/songwriter, but my dreams, hopes and wishes were cu==blocked by an overbearing,domineering egglayer Bitch!!!!!!! But long before that,though in 1970 my mentor and friend passed away before we could even get started. R.I.P. Mr. Oscar Buick!!!!!!!

Also, the FAMOUS FINAL SCENE.
@irenedevilliers16743 жыл бұрын
@@alistairewen9558 How right you are!!! I first heard "The Famous Final Scene" in 1980 ~ on the night l was sitting in the dark waiting for my (now late ex)-husband to come home from visiting the woman who broke up my 19 year-old marriage. She was his ex-girlfriend & he had told me he had never stopped loving her. That was after l had given birth to his 4 children. The words of that song couldn't have been more apt. It was as if my heart was being torn apart all over again. At the time l didn't know who the singer was, as the radio show was playing 3/4 songs in a row without naming the artist. It took me about 10 years to find the recording. Those words are engraved on my soul. We divorced, he married her, and they are both gone now, but l am still living with the aftermath. I might add that neither the love of his life, or her 2 daughters bothered to attend his Memorial Service. It was left to our 4 children to organise.

Might sound strange to some but this song's always made me think of the last stand of the 300 in Sparta, the American Revolution, and the battle of Britain. Please Remember when 300 Spartans stood against a Persian Army that had them hopelessly outnumbered yet won, when George Washington and his men stood alone at Valley Forge against the most powerful empire the world had ever known yet snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against all odds, and Winston Churchill and the RAF stood alone against the axis yet stood while the Axis fell back and many other such instances in history where great heroes fought alone seemingly defeated with everything they had come what may! This spirit is still with us all today and we need it perhaps more now than ever! Remember the heroes who have stood against tyranny before us! and do your part to stand against tyranny wherever you are in the world today so that we and future generations may know peace and freedom!

Bob, I’ve hesitated for 14 years, I am the niece if the Robisons. The family who was murdered in 1968, I know you live near.... My sisters friend sang back up for you in the early years...Mary Kay LaLa.. we all went to Lamphere High School. My connection is through school, Mary Kay Laila and also that my youngest daughter knows Cole. We’ve been going to Lake Michigan, since we were tiny girls. You’ve been there for years .my sisters do t want me ever to talk...but that’s how I got to rent the cottage so close. PM me, if you want to know more. Bless you, Bob...We’ve been waiting for you since 2008, pm me Bob! 💗
