I play blood bowl, take fantasy football literally. One of my teams are the ogre team, the Springfield sabertusks. A yeti ice wizard would be a good alternate to the ogre fire belly wizard. The fire belly wizard casts fireball and column of fire, throwing fire spells either at a specific target or along a row of the field. The yeti ice wizard would cast one of two spells. First, snowball, basically the fireball spell. Second, blizzard, changing the weather to blizzard for three turns or the end of the drive, whichever is faster.

I love the cousin relationship in this movie. Personally I have almost fifty cousins cousins and to me they’re one of the most interesting family relationships. Every family unit has its expected relationship whether you follow it is up to you but cousins don’t. Cousins can be your siblings, your wise uncle, your silly uncle, your sibling, or your best friend. This family shows more of the sibling relationship between the two boys and I really appreciated it.

Now that´s how you make a twist villain work. First: you introduce a non-twist villain first to keep the conflict going and with a face until the reveal (As in Toy Story 2 or Monsters, inc.) Second: You reveal the twist villain long before the third act, so we as an audience get to know them as evil (as in Toy Story 3, Tarzan or Atlantis the Lost Empire) Optional: Even before revealing them to be a villain, the twist villain is a source of conflict or an obstacle (As in Wreck-It Ralph)

When I saw this in the cinema, I was absolutely blown away by the level of detail in Everest's fur. He's not the first animated character I've seen with this level of detail, but he's definitely the first one where I noticed and appreciated it on my first viewing. Another funny thing from my first viewing is that I already knew going that Sarah Paulson, who I'm a big fan of, was in the movie. The fact that she was doing an English accent was really distracting at first (I'm a Brit myself), but I got used to hearing her talk like that _just_ before we found out that the actual character was faking it. And I don't know if they were intentionally making her look like Merida from Brave when she takes over as the villain (e.g. 16:45), but but the similarity between them definitely caught me off-guard when I first watched it. Also for a fun fact, Everest's humming was actually done by the film's composer, Rupert Gregson Williams.

Although as far as I have read, the Mongolian people are considered Turkic in origin (I hope my sources have been correct on that front) and obviously China is vastly different, Everest's humming reminds me somewhat of Mongolian throat singing to a slight degree and I love that! :D Also the main character's violin playing also reminds me of the absolute beauty of Yoyo Ma's (I apologize in advance as I probably spelled his name wrong) cello piece from the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Also I feel no shame in saying that I, a twenty-eight year old man, also am in full agreement that Everest is a cute little fuzzy baby that I want to cuddle lol ^_^ I have a soft spot for animals and that also extends to the occasional mythical fluff ball haha XD

OMG this movie was so cute! In fact I liked it so much it almost felt like a Pixar film, the humor was great, the animation was dazzling, I loved the bond Yi had with Everest it was a great throwback to the classic genre of a lonely kid befriending a fictional creature like E.T, The Iron Giant, Lilo and Stitch, and How to train your dragon. I agree Bob people really should give this film a watch. But I also want to point out that Burnish looks like Charles Muntz from up. They're both old, they wear similar clothing, the have a cane, and they both want to get their reputation back by capturing a mysterious animal that nobody believes is real. Charles was the villain but Burnish had a change of heart but I still feel like Dreamworks ripped him off

DazzReview had a rather negative review of this movie, thinking it was boring for its formulaic story that tries to appeal to Chinese audiences for that box office money. Perhaps simple storys can't cut it anymore and we need them to be more complex and subvert our expectations all the time so we can't easily predict how it's going to end.
