great demo I have watch 3 different videos on the dragon, crocodile, mermaid scales all the same stitch so there is a small difference on each one yours included. Yours was the most relaxed one to watch yeahhhh I'm dyslexic and i have had problems all my life with instructions but watching someone who is relaxed and takes their time is soooo much easier to watch thank you dear bye

I have been trying to figure this out so that I could make my granddaughter some wrist/arm warmers so that the crocodile stirches would just cover the top of her hand and be in a point near her fingers - a bigTHANK YOU for showing us how to do this and increase - awesome and so easy!!! I can't wait to see her so I can measure around her wrist/arm to do this and maybe add some beads to the project!!! Thanks again!

finally someone who feels like I do, when I'm watching a tut, I find it so distracting when nails are too busy or unkempt, hers are not too bad. I saw a tut where the instructor wore glitter stones & all colors, I couldn't watch tut for watching her nails. I think it's best when you keep nails neat with clear, or maybe a color if it's not too much......well that's just me & you!!!

Hi finally one I can get a grip on. Can I just make one suggestion. As someone who has a hard time seeing the different shades of color your nails r just beautiful, but having the color so close to the color of the yarn made it a little difficult to see the stitches. I myself wear my nails long so I admire how nice yours r. Just a suggestion. Love the video now I wish I wouldn't have purchased the pattern that lost me. Thank u

I agree with all other comments. This is the clearest and easiest tutorial I've seen for explaining the crocodile stitch! I used it to begin a mermaid blanket for a friend. this takes a large amount of yarn-- to make a full shawl--- a larger hook than suggested makes larger scales, therefore a slightly lighter weight shawl ; though it will still be quite heavy and very warm.. love this stitch and have incorporated it in other projects.
@CrochetwithClare
@CrochetwithClare 8 жыл бұрын
+Virginia Clough yes you are correct. when you use a thicker yarn and a larger hook it will be a heavier shawl. it does a very pretty project though

Great video! I have worked this stitch before, but needed a brain nudge! Also your video helped me with the pattern I'm working on now. I"m making a "crocodile " rug for my grandson and I'm going to use this stitch for the body, so I needed to learn how to start with one "scale" and increase from there. Since I'm starting at the tip of the tail up towards the head. Would you have any suggestions for for what stitch to use for the legs and head? Thanks

There is a video for making a crocodile scarf. Use that info to make it big enough for a shawl. The scarf is 18+2 (20 chains) so you might try 48+2 (50 chains) and see if that is wide enough.
