I have been crocheting for 25 years and was too young to learn how to read patterens and could never understand the forgien lanuage that is the "written crochet patteren". That being said I have done everything in my power to TRY and make hats with very rare sucess. You have made hats fun for me now, not torture. LOL I'm on a role now. From people like me who need to "see it done" THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to make these turtorials.

I love the way you teach! I have watched numerous knitting & crochet videos & you have a gift. You effectively repeat & demonstrate more than once. You effectively incorporate all the key details--giving the big picture. Plus, you are lovingly personable! Please do a video of the crochet hat that spirals from the top & does not use double crochet. One video called it a man's crochet hat. Please do a video of this hat. You are a true Dearheart!

thank you so much my dear....I have been crocheting for over 30 years and NEVER knew that little trick of skipping the beginning chain in order to eliminate that ugly gap in my work. I have tried loosely doing the chain to help it blend in, but still I can see it. Now I wish I could redo all my hats with this new technique!!! Also the sizing tips are super too! Take care Clare xxooxxoo

Hi, this is the best video I've seen yet on how to make a beanie. the reason I say this is because each row that I join was beginning to pucker and have a lump at the top of my hats and the seam would start to curve, I didn't know what was going, but now using this pattern i am satisfied with the out come. Thumbs up. Gonna email this to myself so I don't have to search for a beanie pattern that works. Again Thanks

I'm so ecstatic!! I took up crocheting a couple of years ago. I was so unhappy with the obvious seams that I improvised and came up with a way to not see the seams. I was disappointed because even though I was happy with the way my hats looked, I was unhappy because I found no directions for it so I thought I was doing it wrong and I gave up crocheting. Your tutorial is exactly what I had come up with and I was a new crocheter. I am so excited to start crocheting again. Thank you so much!!!

You always give us gifts of tips and patterns.. I would like to give you my gift of an almost seamless hat.. Work in each stitch and not the V.. One more tip as well.. Not that you are doing a bad job.. Your great that is why I keep coming back!!! LOL.... When you finish a round, and begin a new one, chain 3.. Now when you crochet back to the beginning stitch around, slip stitch into the 2nd chain of the chain 3.

Hi Clare! I've done it again! I created something beautiful from your instructional videos on youtube! MY FIRST HAT!!! I made it for my Niece. I did a few things differently I thought I'd share. I did the band with a buttonhole ring (chain 5, slip stitch into a loop, HDC 3 inside the loop and then HDC 3 across, chain one and HDC 3, and so on) until I got the length of the band. I found it easier than the other. I hid the button under the bow, and I'm going to crochet several colors of bands and bows so she can interchange them. I'll probably do another hat in white and do the same thing. I didn't do a huge bow so it's laying down nicely. I'm just so tickled with myself! I really enjoy your videos. They are so easy to follow, even for a beginner. One thing I'd definitely tell other viewers is, once you're done increasing COUNT YOUR STITCHES!! It will keep the frogging down to a minimum. I counted backwards from my last stitch before I joined the ends of the row. If I had too many, I knew I had accidently added an increase, too few meant I skipped a stitch. It also helped me to know where my first stitch was so I knew where to start the next row. Thank you for your awesomeness!

Thank you for this tutorial! I am pretty new to crocheting and I was having the hardest time figuring out how to do the increase on a beanie pattern I found. I had pulled it apart and restarted about ten times before I found your video. I was adding 2, 3, 4, 5... DC into one stitch instead of 2 DC in one stitch and then 1 DC into the next 2, 3, 4, 5 stitches which resulted in an ugly, flat, doily looking thing. Your instructions are so clear, and I can see what you're doing. You think of all the little details to help beginners get started. Now I can make that cute beanie for my twins. Thank you so much!
