I don't understand how people don't get how to do this...it's pretty simple. It's so simple, in fact, that I have never crocheted in my life, but I watched this video, went to the store and bought a hook and yarn, and am almost done making my first crocheted beanie. Don't be lazy, listen to the directions and learn the stitch from WATCHING. Thanks for the great video, it's very clean and thorough. You have crazy fast skills!

thank you so much! I made my first beanie ! it is being donated to a hospital baby unit! I would recommend that you watch the video all the way through first...then grab the yarn and hook, and crochet along! I hope to use the whole skein to make hats for the hospital! Thanks again,for taking the time to make these videos! Kim in Michigan

Thanks so much for your step by step instructions. I found them very easy to follow, and I'm happy to say I just completed my first beanie. I have been crocheting for years and always wanted to learn how to make a something more than a blanket. Now that I'm a grandmother, I'm very excited to know how to crochet beanies for my sweet little granddaughter, Mathilde. You can be sure I'll be watching your additional videos for new projects! Blessings...

You video is the one and only video that could explain to me how to make a hat. I've been struggling with patterns (I'm a brand-new crochet-er) and didn't quite get how to make a hat without it getting "wavy". Increase! that's the secret! thank you so much!

Yes you can , to get the size you need The mathematical formula for getting circumference if you know the diameter (measurement across hat). You just measure from 1 edge to the other and multiply that number by 3.142 & the answer you get is the measurement of the circumference.

Yes and When making a beanie/hat you need to keep increasing until the circumference/outside edge measurement is 1 inch smaller than the head that you are making it for (making a bit smaller allows for stretch) So for example if the head measurement is 21 inches you need to increase until the circumference/outside edge measurement is 20 inches. When you have the desired measurement you STOP increasing and continue on with 1 stitch in each stitch
@CrochetwithClare12 жыл бұрын
Hi, to make the hat bigger you need to make more increase rounds, you just keep adding a extra stitch in between the increase on each row The mathematical formula for getting circumference if you know the diameter (measurement across hat). You just measure from 1 edge to the other and multiply that number by 3.142 & the answer you get is the measurement of the circumference.

@riviera5150 Your Welcome ! hmm without "seeign what you are doing" when your hook gets stuck, it maybe to do with tension or Do you turn the hook so that it is pointing down before you pull though all loops? Also it could be your hook , i have heard people say that there are different styles of hooks (the hooky part) and this can sometimes snag on stitches :)

HI there yes it will get bigger, as long as you remeber to measure your hat as you go here are some rules I follow The mathematical formula for getting circumference if you know the diameter (measurement across hat). Keep making increase rounds until you measure from 1 edge to the other and multiply that number by 3.142 & the answer you get is the measurement of the circumference of the head
