Lia, to decrease you can alternate rows with single crochet in between the amount of rows you want, or you can start with a smaller bottom, then increase the treble stitches in the middle of each group with one in any amount of the groups to get the desire width. hope this helps. silvia

bob i think if you make a few rows in single crochet to start the back it will look like a seam instead of the top of the stitches bumpy on the showlders, just a thought, idea or opinion.i will try it and see if it works, cause i like that top so easy to make and i have some yarn i bought over 2 years ago and have not been able to figure what to make with them, and it cost $10.00 each skein.

I had a million things I was going to tell you... I guess I should have just paused and said what I wanted to tell you lol But! When we make simple or obvious mistakes we like to call them 'blonde moments' I don't know if that's the same thing as a 'shocker' lol I would also love to try the pattern in a 'checkered' way, maybe putting the 'trebles?' on top of the stitches rather than stitches on top of stitches. But I am a quilter with minimum crochet knowledge lol So I should keep it simple.
