"Patrie" pronounced with with a rolling R is in fact very accurate to 1940's way of pronouncing French which was, like all other languages at that time more colorful in its pronounciation. The Stalin only has 72,450 HP. however, a bit of napkin math _does_ prove that he did 100% of the Stalingrad's health with that Blap, as the totals work out to 77,235. Always nice to see Russian bias going the more historically-accurate way.

yeah and the fact that the enemy still almost won, even when their carrier finished second from the bottom, tells me that A) Enemy team was probably the better team if they had equally skilled carriers, and B) that a experienced carrier play or lack thereof will make the biggest of differences in a game that should be decided by guns/torpedos but then War Gaming would be making an actually balanced game...

Enemy Malta's torpedo bombers took the attack turn too wide, allowing the fighters to catch up and yes, in that bubble if time is by your side you melt squadrons down

Looks like they fixed the team line up bug but introduced a rudder indicator bug. Steve's rudder showed as hard to port for a good portion of the beginning of the video. Even as he sailed a straight line.

I'm not quite sure where jingles got this idea that the PR and Schlieffen are just cruisers with a BB skin. Yeah, they technically have 25mm bows and lower HP but that also have 150mm upper belts, and in the case of the Schlieffen, a 50mm deck and massive icebreaker. They can eat more damage than something like a Montana when giving broadside, but they're quite resilient really. The only major weakness in the armour is that the casemate mounted secondary guns sometimes act as shot traps.

Patrie can be an evil monster. When I played it a little longer ago, an almost full HP Missouri came around an island bow in right to me. He got completely obliterated by 1 salvo in his bow. Patrie would be my favorite T11, but it's way to expensive to play. So I skip T11s completely.

Spot the DD, and if your team does not shoot at him then you can attack.

generally they should be spotting at the start of the game, not just DD's but everything they can spot. Once the teams start engaging you make a judgement call on who to go in on. If the DD's are spotted but maybe in cover or just being ignored there is no harm dropping on them. Just make sure you dont tunnel on them for too long.

9:10 An interesting point in game is destroyers and cruisers + battle ships should have decent aa. But 1 ship might have trouble knocking down aircraft. Several strong aa hulls should cripple air attacks effectiveness. Not nessarilly stop it. But make it a pyric victory. ( Then the fun police just can't run out of air craft) ....... But its a fun thought. I remember when i played years ago instead of running my destroyer as a scout / gun boat / torpedo despencer. I spent a little time attempting to run escort. It worked at least then. Run along side a cruser or battle ship. When the air craft came around pop the consumable. Use smoke when needed to help with cover. ( I tended to make mistakes while trying this) However running escort as a destroyer is simply not rewarded by the game. + Unless your on a good cooperative team its not used at all. 😢

I think you must be thinking of a different DD. Humphreys is just a bigger Gearing with Austin turrets but no SAP. No Hydro, no radar, no heal, just DC, smoke, and Speed boost/DFAA. Hell max stealth with her is 6.6Km.

I also wanted to keep my secondaries setting fires because I knew Montana had just DCP'ed and our CV was likely to live. I want to say the Agir player is just coming back to the game or just doesn't have enough experience against the Patrie (or TXI BBs in general). Because no one who's played against a TXI BB pushes into one alone (sailing a CA, mind) while the BB also has CV support (like those "useless" patrol fighters that provide unlimited, risk-free spotting).

Good video. Speaking as a Legends (PS4) player who came in near the beginning, I'd say that the game has always had BS designs scattered around in it. Designs that ALMOST were, such as Montana, or alternates of established designs are fair enough. But, looking at later campaign ships, it seems to be mostly developers pulling random ideas out of their backsides. "How about a Bismarck with lots of Scharnhorst guns?" "How about a Russian Nelson?" And so on. Bear in mind that WoW makes most of its money by basically selling "superships of the month" to players with extra-deep pockets and not much else. They get their shiny new toy, fool around with it some and, when the novelty starts to wear off.... oooohhhh, look, new shiny. Unfortunately, this all means that WoW is kind of stuck - if they don't keep producing this kind of stuff, all the Whales will lose interest and wander off . Frankly, I look at the amount of 1950s-era ships that have started coming in lately, and I reckon early-era nuclear submarines are just around the corner. Undoubtedly extra-expensive Premiums, I am certain. For myself, I just keep having fun at lower tiers. Tiers 2-5, mainly, with occasional forays up to 6 or so. Much more fun, cheaper, less drama.

9:00 the Malta lost all its planes in the flak bursts and CV fighter. Flak bursts with DFAA active and CV fighters will SHRED any CV’s planes, even British or FDR planes which have the highest health in the game.
