@@annieo6527 exactly. And quite frankly, even outside of the moral dilemma (power vs right), nobody has any actual legal "right" to that child. Amber's one year probation/Jonathan's arrangement is the same length of time she and Rick were married. This fits with what I wrote yesterday (episode 3383) that Amber is getting a favorable Redo of the storyline where she passed the baby off as hers and Rick's.
@FayeIL7 ай бұрын
It really is a shame the writers didn’t see that Amber was more compelling and rootworthy as a screwed-up but basically good-hearted person than as this object of desire for both CJ and Rick (and soon Deacon as well). No offense to Adrienne Frantz, but she didn’t have the beauty or the personality to pull off the “ingenue/prize for every man” role.
@annieo65277 ай бұрын
Yes, this is a great point! The difference is that now, Amber is no longer sure this is what she wants. The new element in this storyline is CJ, who is actually a _more_ sympathetic character than either Amber or Rick, meaning we don't necessarily want Amber to choose Rick this time. In fact, CJ clearly has Storytelling potential (you compared him to Connor in a previous post, and I see it too, with the CJ/Amber dynamic mirroring Brooke/Connor in relation to the Forresters). He has been predicting the outcome of Amber's (unwise) actions, as well as correctly narrating the Forresters' intentions, throughout this storyline, and today he even says "they're probably over at the house scheming up a big plan right now" while the Forresters are, in fact, over at the house scheming up a big plan.

One of the weirdest teases that never materialized was when Bridget tried to pursue Ridge after it was revealed he was Massimo's son. And of course, remember that Brooke is another one of Ridge's "discards," meaning a woman who came to him after things didn't work out with her dreamboat Ridge. No wonder that after just one conversation that he overhears a year later, Thorne leaves Brooke in a snap second. He's also the only one who hasn't expressed desire to reignite things with Brooke. Looking back, he's blinded to the red flags that are blowing in his face.
