Looks very unstable when the center column is all the way up. I would have expected that to be the case.

Did you have the chance to try it in high wind? If yes, is it stable? Also how is the head with big telephoto lenses? Does it move at all? Especially if you don’t have an L bracket on the camera and put the camera on a portrait orientation. I’ve had a manfrotto elements tripod which I bought for travel and even in the slightest breeze becomes unstable. Also as I described above without an L bracket the head cannot support the camera properly and it starts to move with a big telephoto lens. Two very common problems with cheap tripods.

With the second column extended for sure it can't handle wind. The head is robust for up to 10kg. I don't know how it handles in portrait mode with a big telephoto lens because these lens have tripod mount on them and using the ring of lens you change the orientiion of the camera

@@BonciuToma my 70-300 (for cropped sensor cameras) does not have a collar for tripod mount so when I try to place it on the ball head it is not stable. Really the manfrotto elements is a waste of money. I fixed the situation with a L bracket but even with the slightest breeze it is not good at all. Thanks for your reply though.

I have the same issue with the monopod leg when twisting to extend the leg, it comes undone, it is annoying but that's the only issue I have.

I would apply Loctite to the detachable leg's thread t disable it.

In terms of the leg getting harder to unscrew...WD 40. Before you have a problem. Did you notice the feel of the metal on your bare hands? Almost like it's been barely lubed. A luxury feel.

Actualy the head broke after about a month of using it. I think I had the missfortune to receive a bad unit. However, because of that, I can't recoment this tripod. Imagine something like this happening when you're on a two weeks photo trip

The main central column gets stuck. I didn't use it that much. It got stuck on its own. Unfortunatelly I also had problems with the other tripods from this brand

@@panchulovikingo9763 I have a friend that baugth one and his works with no problem. Maybe bad luck with the one they sent me ... who knows. It's an issue because if the head of the tripod stops working and I'm, let's say, in Norway then my trip is compromised

Is the locking lever of the ball head made of plastic or metal ?

The center column is useless in all tripods. It will wobble when you put a camera on it. So it is good that is tall without extending the center column
