Hey there Mitch. Now you're doing things that I would never try ... requiring more skill and patience than this engineer possesses. Very impressive, my friend! Oh, and it's really cool that you involved your dad and nephew. This is a great "bonding" experience, so to speak.

Haha it is a great “bonding” experience lol. My dad got me started into cars and he took a break for a while. But he has the Camaro and is getting back into it. I’m an engineer also. Like my one professor said when he solved a problem. “It’s okay, I engineer” 🤣 that’s how I look at this car. Just take it piece by piece and use a little superposition.

Your skills and knowledge are really showing now, Mitch. This series is fantastic! The "Split" is really taking shape exponentially with each video, and your videography skills are really getting good too! This is so much fun to watch!!!! And yes, the assembly manuals are golden in vibe and priceless in helping us figure out all the mid-year mysteries.

Thanks I appreciate it Dr Lee. I just purchased a new laptop so my videos should be getting a little cleaner now that my new computer has the power.

Hi! Your work is great. My dad is looking to remove the front end off of a 65 stingray for rebuild/restoration. Do you have any videos of C2 front end removal/tear down or know of any resources you could send my way? I’d appreciate the help!

I been wanting to build a 66 Corvette Roadster on a SSDI income, I know sounds impossible, Where/What part should I start with? Frame/Birdcage? What will be the hardest part to get?

I had to get a part time job to help fund my 69 project car.

I would start working on the birdcage first. Ensure everything is good, straight, and clean, then build a rolling chassis. Transmission, engine, body, paint, and interior. That's the order I plan to go about it with my '63. Hope to have the roller done by the Fall.

It depends what kind of car you want to build. The cheapest way to do it would be to find a complete car that’s decent to start with from a little old lady lol. If you want to start from scratch like I am I would say the hardest thing to find is a birdcage with paperwork. Once you have that you can build everything else around it. If you are ambitious you can convert a C3 frame to work on a C2. I basically got my frame and running gear for free. If you send me an email at midyearmitch@gmail.com I can try and help you out. Tell me exactly what you are looking for and where you are at and I can try to help you out. 👍

Im curious how much this is gonna cost.
@MidYearMitch3 жыл бұрын
It’s going to cost more than I wanted it to but it’s probably less than most would expect. It could be the most inexpensive “restored” split.

Is this your business or hobby? I'm shopping for my 63 restoration.

It’s my hobby. I have a full time job as an engineer.
