Bengali singara is mild flavourded , smaller in size .It's unique with flavour of peanut and panch foron. If you want you can remove fenugreek seed after frying.But if you avoid it in panch foron you will not get it's amazing aroma.

This was the video that I was waiting for from you guys.. I stay in France and it is impossible to find a proper Kolkata style singara here and I miss it like anything!! I am not a great cook and so normally I don't venture into cooking difficult dishes like this but with your videos I tried fried rice, kosha mangsho, chicken curry, luchi and a lot more and each and every dish was a real hit!! I was surprised that I could do it. Now its time for singara!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot Bongeats.. And being a pointer, my favorite shop for singara is tasty corner.. :)

Recently I have been watching your videos. Not that I'm going to open my own channel neither I'm cooking each of ur recipes to be frank. But of course I do try out some of the many I see . I love ur work, compilation and every small detailing. It's a treat for eyes. Perfect - smooth. Of course, you can. But the taste will not be of the quintessential Phulkopir Shingara. :)

Yes. Cauliflower is a seasonal addition. Except in winter, other times we use simple potato stuffing only. In addition u can add small fried coconut pieces as well.

The recipes you guys post are fabulous! Just a thought, the longer you leave the shingara in oil, especially when the oil is cool or even just warm, the more they tend to soak oil, the more greasy they would get, which is an absolute turn off. The oil should be heated to an extent where your pastry doesn't stay mellow when lowered, yet doesn't get burnt. Fantastic work! Keep up on the good work and labor of love!
