I like that you help facilitate people who would be better off doing their own books at their current point. It's not only morally current (imo) but would definitely make them more likely to come back to you when they grow beyond what the owner can manage because they already know you have their best interest in mind.

Hey! Morgan personally LOVES Bookkeeper Launch (sk293.isrefer.com/go/BLFAQ/ML82/) and really hasn't heard of anyone who has been disappointed by the program. They have amazing customer service, they start at the very beginning (for someone who has no experience) and they give you lots of help along the way (group to ask questions, email helpline, calls). The program is quite thorough. I'll link Morgan's personal review she made also (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mobVm32vZsqlqdk) Krista (FinePoints Admin)

I love your videos! They are so helpful! I was wondering, how do you know how to set up the Chart of Accounts? Especially for someone that is starting up and doesn't have a focused niche. Thank you!!
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
Good question--QB comes with the chart of accounts already set up with generic accounts. So, I start out just using those, then, once I get to know the business better I can tweak it. Also, some industries may have suggested categories that you can google or research (for example my real estate client went to a conference and they gave them suggested accounts for that industry). But starting generic is usually fine and you can fine-tune as you go!

I’m planning to take courses for bookkeeping next year and would like to know if they are challenging or not (I’m good at math but not amazing ) I also wanted to know if bookkeeping was a difficult job for you or if it was easy. If you could answer these two questions that would be very helpful , thank you !

Great stuff! Regarding the income by person. To do that in Quickbooks that would be the class function in quickbooks?
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
Good question. In this case we do it as an account, not class, because the owner wants it to show up (front and center) on the main P&L. Thinking it through, you could also do it as class, however then the income would be broken out on top with nothing broken out in those classes under expenses (does that make sense?)... which wouldn't be my favorite. But, you do have me thinking if there is a more efficient way to do it!

@FinePointsBookkeeping2 жыл бұрын
If you use QBO Accountant version it's set up for you to manage each of your clients within the dashboard. You log in with your name and you see each of your clients listed there. They can also have their own logins (to just see their own company). QBOA is "free" for you, but each client will need to pay for their QB subscription at whichever level they choose (plus, advanced, etc). You can also choose to roll your clients QBO fee into what you charge them (as you can get their subscription discounted by using the accountant version). Morgan talks more about it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqquoJxpgc2hmck -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)
