Thank you for all your videos. We are a Trane dealer in NJ. I have been in the trade close to 25 years doing mostly installs. Was moved to full time service about a year ago. Your videos have helped me tremendously especially with Trane equipment. Definitely need one of those stools.

Amen to 30 years of working on my knees. I have resorted to putting my tools in a bucket so I can have a seat while I work. This work will make you an old man quick. Even on rough ins I set up a table so I’m off the floor. My knees and back thank me.

I really enjoy watching when you use the manometer because you show a lot of little hidden details that make the next job so much easier than sitting on a help line for over an hour! B.l.t.n64!

Thanks for posting this! Your video saved my butt. I haven't worked on too many variable communicating systems and had a service call for no heat. 2 tech as already been out and reset the limit switch. Come to find out no one set up the gas valve and it was over fire. You info in this video h ed led a lot!! Thanks!

Actually the install manual tells you specifically to wait 5 minutes after entering min and max test modes before adjusting pressures, the unit goes through a self test process where it ramps up and down to learn pressure switch open and closed points based on inducer demand. if you actually wait, After the 5 mins is up, the unit will modulate down to it's low demand 25% and you can set your pressures which are .7 low and 3.5 high NG and 2.0 low 10.0 high for LP. If you set the minimum to high it will always burn hotter and not modulate properly to match the blower speed and will trip high limit on long run times. Set one at 1.1 one time and had 39 high limit alerts in one night. Gotta use those manuals with this new stuff.

Yep. I got to wondering what the gas pressure setting were and the manual has a really nice table for NG and LP. Depending on the btu rating of this furnace, that 1.0 may be too high

Never worked on a model like this Trane. But I always set the high pressure first, then the low. Also I always remove the burner door to do the pressure adjustment.

Yea it supposed to be 24 tonight and 16 tomorrow night... the phone is going to ring the next few mornings for sure. What stinks is it seems like we always get crawl spaces in the winter, and attics in the summer !!

I’m impressed with the trane unit. I’m just curious about the filter. Is that gas line in the way of changing the filter ?

I have this hvac here in SW Michigan and I was told when buying it that the heat pump would run down to 5 degrees. I've had it set to go down to 15 and 20 degrees and it still runs the propane even at 30 degrees and I've even caught actually running the heat pump when it's single digits despite being set to use the back up at 15. Any thoughts? I've talked to the installers and they don't seem to care or understand.

I searched your channel to see if you had any experience with the XC95M and found this clip. I'd love to have your experience to lean on for new construction. Now home in the mid-west, ranch, 3100 sq.ft. future finished basement. The current dealer is proposing (2) 3-ton units. Says I really only need 5-1/2 tons but the 20i is only available in 2 or 3 ton and the variable speed will allow stepping up to the 3-ton with no problems. I know I want the XV20i. I wanted to pair the XC95M propane with the XV20i's. Dealer is pushing the S9V2-VS with a BAY24 to allow communicating capability. Made it sound like Trane will be discontinuing the XC95M. Would you recommend one furnace over the other and have you seen good reliability with the XV20i's?

I retired from working on forced draft boiler burners up to as large as 15 MBTUs. These burners went from 1950s to 2016's high efficiency units. In the video you started out adjusting low fire efficiency. On the equipment I was used to working on, one MUST start setting up high fire first. So I was just wondering if this two-step Trane gas valve is indifferent to which you adjust first ?
@TedCookHVAC6 жыл бұрын
That is actually a modulating furnace... the gas valve just has max low and max hi to be set. It is not just a 2 stage.

Why is that regulator upside down??

Hey Ted, Hey Ted, Let me ask you a question? What are the chances for a brand new trane S9V2 Gas furnace for the heat exchanger to burnout in 2 days after the install da, for not having the proper setup on the gas pressure. The furnace was converted to propane. All the propane kit was installed right except the gas pressure was not regulate it.
@TedCookHVAC6 жыл бұрын
High gas pressure could be detrimental I am sure however you would think the high limit would protect from what you're describing. What are the signs that point towards heat exchange failure ?
@WGwarrior206 жыл бұрын
Well the service tech said because of the high limit switch keep tripping and the gas pressure was too high. That's the only diagnosis he gave to the office.
@TedCookHVAC6 жыл бұрын
Get me the model numbers of furnace and coil and also what configuration it is mounted in (left or right if horizontal) and I will help you pinpoint the issue.
@WGwarrior206 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate you try to help me... but the company decide to replace the furnace . I see you do a lot trane system, You should do a video on how to setup the BK and what deep switches need to be set to.
