- 5 second rule - put a price tag on yourself FOR EVERYTHING. Ask them their budget, and say my usual is double - outworking beats talent - if youre worried about imposter syndrome, PREPARE!! - 100k to give a talk. BE PROUD OF THE MONEY YOU MAKE - getting up after failing is in your DNA bc you learnt how to walk. - focus on things most people dont focus on. (Make invisible people feel important, be kind to them bc they will spread your name. Share your mistakes and save people from the heartache and the headache) set the intention to move people - if you underprice yourself bc of your insecurities, people wont believe that you’re good - psychologically, when you say no, you become more attractive bc of the chase mechanism. (More in males) - high-five/fist-bump the mirror, align yourself with who you want to be for a minute - you excel new neural pathways when you combine affirmations with unexpected physical movement - research shows that tough-love doesnt work - celebrate yourself with a high-five just for waking up - you are the most important to yourself!

I’ll be the one to say it. Mel Robbins could have had better interviewers. Instead of asking deep meaningful questions or ideas to Mel. They brought the conversation back to themselves, in a very superficial way. A good interviewer would have kept the focus at hand. By asking more questions for viewers with this large amount of GOLD spilling out of Mel’s mouth.

I like her so much for her brutal honesty ..I've been run down following a car crash and then adding pain to the suffering Covid and all the restrictions and unable to get medical care abroad etc..she's a bright star when everything is dark. What she forgets to mention is she has talent and ressources ( intellectual, creative etc..)She's incredible and knows what she's talking about as opposed to some psychiatrists who never had a traumatic experience or feeling that way ..yet it's so hard when your body is aching and in pain so badly, lack of energy, loosing everything and then finding the energy to fight a crooked system ...and no support, total isolation ..it's so difficult but at least there are women like her looking out for others

17:07 Not for the ego rush, but making the people who are invisible behind the scenes feel visible and like working with you has been a really great experience for them. 18:00 You have to understand "deal flow". Then they will want to work with you next time and spread your name to other people they know. Basically, have really great social skills and networking skills. Don't focus on yourself, focus on how you can bring value to other people. Focus on the things that really matter. 22:24 The 5 Second Rule works, because it's so simple that everyone can remember it. Tools only work if you use them. 23:05 When you start counting you've already made the first decision. You've moved from hesitating and fear and doubt, into action. You've gone from a bias towards thinking to a bias towards action.

Anxiety: caused by the feeling that you have to be someone that you’re not in order to be accepted. Wow. Great quote. Awesome food for thought. Never quite got the message that there’s a treadmill effect to anxiety directly linked to maintaining the persona we try to create and maintain. Step off the treadmill by simply halting the effort and be authentic and truthful (which usually accompanies empathy and patience since we’re being honest about being limited, struggling people in the first place). Once off the treadmill, we can make real, sustaining improvements in our lives and relationships.

Lived this life myself, not to the same level but enough to feel defeated and learn the same lessons. The more success stories you hear the more they start to overlap and take on a pattern. Same skeleton, different skin kind of thing. The reality is that there are many guru speakers out there now, if Mel speaks to you in a way that you can relate, that's what matters but there might be others that really sing vs. speak and it's whoever gets you to make the changes you want in life is who you should double down on and pay attention to. There are many gurus I like to visit and each one has their own panache. Their own poetry in a way, whether it be their delivery or their vocabulary, you're gong to take on their traits because you're being highly influenced with things you confirm to be true to you. Be mindful of this as we are a products of our environment. Whatever you do, wherever you go, whoever you are around, you become.
