I remember the first time going to a new church with my family had a pipe organ, and i literally cried cuz it was so overwhelming. Pipe organs are awesomely scary.

There really isn't any other instrument with that powerful of a prescence, a full choir being a close second. When their architects tried to capture the might of God, I think they did pretty damn well :)

Hello again. Just remembered something about the aforementioned church i was talking about previously. The pipes the audience would see weren't the ones that would play sound. The real ones were in the walls behind the balcony of the building. I wonder how often that is. And i wonder how many people back there have gone deaf because the organist didn't know they were there.

They really made the final fight with bowser into something special with this theme. It’s no longer any ordinary battle, but a fight between god and satan. The powers of good and evil and the universe you’ve journeyed through for days and hours hanging in the balance as the power stars, toads, and viewers of Lakitu’s show hold their breath awaiting the victor. I must say it left an impression on me. I haven’t cared about Nintendo’s games in years, but I still fondly look back at this wonderful theme that I listened to while I raged and finally beat bowser. Fun times.

Thank you, and I'm happy you enjoy it :) I've noticed a lot of other covers go for the "flighty full orchestra" route with it, which I can see why. But there's a unique feeling of "imposing and powerful" that the solo organ has that the original song was already going for, but N64 soundcard just doesn't have the horsepower for it. So I leaned into its strengths instead of rearanging the piece into something different and (literally) pulled all the stops and went as hard as the organ could go.
