Manson was one of the most controversial people in 90's life in America. Like, people thought he was the devil, and the uber-uber Christians were trying to get him banned, and he just kept singing. They tried to blame Columbine on him, and they tried to blame the West Memphis murders on his influence...it was insane...and the media ate it all up and shoved their sensationalist interpretations down America's throat. MM was a one of a kind artist, part of his time and age, but really just a part of his own upbringing. He had great lyrics, was a fantastic interview, and pushed the envelope in society on where the boundaries were. I never saw him live, but my friends said no two shows were alike, and they were wild...he was very improvisational.

You mentioned NIN, I saw them in a Miami club with Meat Beat Manifesto I remember Manson was talking to Trent and we were like "wow he knows NIN." Anyway that warehouse had the most eclectic mix of band practicing on any given night. On bay would have a guy wilt welding goggles and a synth the next would be thrash metal, then 3 people beating on various large metal pieces of garbage with someone reading poetry over the "beat". I have always understood this song to be in two steps. 1) The singing character is the demagogue in the concept album. He hates the elites and their beauty culture. 2) His hate for them is a motivator for him to take power over all of humanity and "fix" them, thus the "fascism will take it away." Also, Manson is not a fascist. He is singing a character that is a metaphor for American conservatism. I wouldn't say Manson's lyrics can be taken as his own views verbatim. He is almost always illustrating the world provacatively, and in this song's case providing a psychological explanation for why such an event (the event happening on the concept album) can be possible.

There are people who have accused him of shit without the intent to get him 'cancelled' but just merely to explain why they don't like him. I feel like most music just goes over his head. Doesnt seem to have a musical bone in his body... especially compared to her.

@@3allz yep absolutely it's very frustrating watching someone who's clearly not even into music have a reaction channel to music. Brad if you're reading this I'm sure you think you like music but no, you don't

Lex could write a dissertation on the Jungian Shadow as it is expressed in Rock Music. You are so intuitive to the deeper messages in the music, you really are gifted! Love your reaction videos, Brad & Lex :) Keep doing what you do!

Lexi is absolutely spot on about the song!! Love how she can vibe to the music yet get the meaning of the song instead of having to intently analyze the lyrics of each song.
