She talks about not covering stories because everyone knows them but for the most part a lot we just know as cultural references not what they actually did. I love these videos because they give me the summary without having to look it up myself, especially for things I have a mild interest about. It's nice to have context for the references.

Back in high school I was creeped out by a fellow student when we brought up Charles Manson in class this girl stood up and said very proudly and claimed that she is related to him and then stated all the evidence against him was planted by the family. Yesterday I went dark, and also used powder makeup to make color streaks in my hair. All sorts of colors. I just felt like being bold and not care about others for once. What really got me was how Charles said his best childhood memories were when he was with his mother. The fact that she didn’t want him really busts my heart open. Every child deserves to be loved. I highly recommend the book “Manson” to anyone who wants to hear about his childhood and his entire story in detail. It’s a great book, my Dad gave it to me. He’s a Criminal Psychologist and hates Charles Manson. He was young but from LA, this case is what inspired him to get into the field.
