Yea I totally agree. I was one of those who dident belive in eating much and getting bulky. But then I read this great article and changed my mind. Cause the more u eat, the better you eat, the harder you train the faster u will grow. And by having excess bodyfat you will be stronger, lift heavier and it will result in more muscle growth. I know alot of "in shape" guys at the gym who are so concernd with never getting fat that they dont gain ANY strenght or any size

Ive always grown from it..i train chest shoulder tris traps one day all pressing movements.. next time at the gym back biceps forearms pulling movements..next time at the gym qauds hams and abs...i try and go 4 days a week but usually only make it 3 days sometimes 2 days..and i will train my calves on 2 of those gym days...would love to go more and get more treadmill or stair climber in but i got work and family so it limits me..im in and out after 1 hour..it works for me.and i eat like a champ

Same here! I can't stand when people criticize PRO BODYBUILDER's form. I mean of all people to criticize, the best bodybuilders in the world? Jesus, give me a break! It obviously works for them. Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman do not use great form, pretty sure it works for them. It's like these people read in Muscle and Fitness or FLEX Magazine "oh, you must use perfect form or your muscles won't grow." These same idiots who criticize these pro's are usually the guys who can't Bench 225 and have 14" arms.

Also having good form increases the muscle growth and tears in the muscles when you don't use momentum. You ever hear the term control the weight don't let it control you?

I know a lot of people who go to the gym but dont even look like they do lol i think a lot of people think just by "going" to the gym you will see results. It's like going to school and not paying attention in class, just because you are there doesnt mean you will learn. Not many people train hardcore in gyms anymore and it shows. Branch is looking huge by the way damn!

That sounds good to me. wether it is too much or not depends on how much time you allow for 'adaptation'. If u love training n just love barbell curls, cable curls n preacher curls for bicep, fair enough. But put that into the recovery equation. Simply the more u do, the more time off u need. I pick machine curls because they give me resistance at start,middle n fully contracted position. Using free weights, u may have to do all three. I often only do one set for quads!! but at end i nearly hurl

I agree gyms nowadays arent what they used to be.There are very few hardcore gyms now where you can train as loud and intense as you want without people interrupting you with stupid comments and questions.I had to buy my own equipetment and start training at home.

Very true sothe 'progression becomes 1 extra rep the following workout.But this could represent a 10% improvement. The longer u have ben trainin, the smaller thos improvements willbe and the harder u have to train. I too have used static holds and strongest range partials with good results. Im always looking for more intense contractions. If close 2 maxin out I may have to train every 2 weeks. Ill do that if i have to.I'll let others worry about it. Imnotafraid 2 bedifferent for natural results.

@charmharmany4143

@SnuffDizz Even with his first cycle he will eventually overtrain and instead of reducing sets etc he would compensate for the increased stresses of more size and strength, with higher dosages. This would go on until he gets to be the second best bber in the world. This explains why guys are getting bigger without actually training hard or harder. So..his training does work but ONLY because such high dosages make him like that beginna again!

notice how branch do his presses/benches/front presses in a very fast, almost halfrep (to keep muscletension) plyometric kind of fashion, this flies directly in the face of all those stANDARD textbook 2 seconds concentric 4 seconds slow eccentric BUT IT OBVIOUSLY WORKS, he is a true power bb, his moves are very explosives to build strength but the range is carefully controlled

nice language..i have just about every bb mag since the early 80s and have seen yates routines..he himself has stated he did volume training and later on swithched to HIT..and the funny thing is he was never doing hit..his routines that I have read from the early 90s were for example 3 chest exercises and for example on bench press he would do 1st set 135 2nd set 225 3rd set 315..he would call those warm ups and then would do 415pounds which he would call a working set....
@collin355

I already know that..I hit each body part about every 6 days..I noticed my body changes the most from week to week depending on how I eat..if I drink alot of beer i look good about 3 hours in but the next day i look flat and depleated..If I alot of clean food for say 7 days straight I look great..

volume traing is not totally evil. If it bring results and your conscience isnt giving you 'toohard a time' over its leck of effieciency then fine. Just remember as we get bigger n stronger, we have tomake ever more severe stresses to the body and these MUST be compensated for. ALL of us r on this journey, its just that many ignore itn make NO progress foryears, or pros increase their dosages to horrific levels through 'fear n ignorance'

Very good point DimebagVision. I used to go to a gym where hardcore guys where lifting in the same place with the people who just want to get fit spending hours on cardio equipement... That sucked. Now I go to a gym where there are two separate halls - one for fitness (machines, cardio and sh*) and the other one - only free weights :) And also women have got a separate hall aswell which from one point of view is a good thing, from other - not, cuz I miss the beautiful booties ))))

Hardgaina? Yes coz i have to train brutally hard 2 gain. Lucky u if u dont, or u let the gear do it for u!! My ONE set of curls is ultra strict, even at the end, and taken to failure. When and only when i tain like that does my body respond. There are times i may plan 2 do 2 sets of chest but im so fried afta 1 that ive had more than enuff. Can u saythe same about your training? U do 8 sets of chest? Wot happens if u do 7? U get smaller? Have u ever tried 2 find out wot is the least i can do?

Talking mentzer, he did build a decent physique with volume, enough toget him 3rd i think at me america, but he has always stated he was just not getting anymore 'output' for such 'input'. He built a lot of muscle as an already advanced bodybuilder using HIT.But the real 'master' was ray mentzer. The guy got upto around 280 with HIT. I saw him in seminar in july 85 n he said his chest routine was one set pec dek n one set inc press! The guy was gettin bigga with such brief yet intense training!!
