@EccentricNarwhaleАй бұрын
Yes, exactly. Edward 1 was not like the portrayal in the movie. He was tall, aggressive, large chested and had a temper. He was ruthless but not as underhanded as they portray here. He was one of the few survivors of a Hashishin assassination attempt and maintained a great relationship with the french. If Edward 2 wasn't such a F up, then there would of likely been a union of France and England as one country. Very smart, very aggressive, and honorable (he did not institute prima nocta etc). Moreover, unlike the movie, the Irish conscripts fought with the English, they did not change sides at all, as the eastern Irish at the time were his allies.

I'm amazed Longshanks didn't do away with his son after his tendencies showed and start again.

Nicolette, the lady-in-waiting, is the one person in the room who does not seem intimidated by the king. When he enters, she continues her needlepoint unimpressed. When he backhands the prince she doesn’t flinch. She later speaks her mind to the princess concerning her husband’s worthlessness. No doubt reporting these developments back the French court.

1:34, I guess Longshanks' son doesn't deserve to be married at all, since he was rude to his bride who wanted to comfort him.

Say what you want about Longshanks He was a Warrior ! Man literally went into battle with his troops

Longshanks realises what a wastrel his son is, yet still gives him opportunity to sort out what, at that stage, appears to be a minor if somewhat irritating distraction. He knows deep down he cant do it, but still wants him to have a go, hasnt quite given up on him at this stage.

I have no knowledge of being a "king". I know why this is first in my feed. I've survived more hardships, fistfights, and personal wars than both of you combined! No one reserves the right to judge me, for I have passed through crucible after crucible. BUT THIS SCAPEGOAT GAME ENDS HERE! PERIOD no discussion. I'll do what is necessary to see it ended. "Forever"
