Might want to check the updated material with the CCTV. Mike literally chases Jeff around the gym. And based off other social media posts it seems very "in character" for Mike to treat smaller people like this. Mitchell Hooper had a good breakdown of it if anyone's interested.
@mightyquinn51352 ай бұрын
Did watch it and that's a lie. Jeff approached Mike. As for Hooper I'd love to see how look it'd take before he smacked someone who tried poaching his clients. Which is what Jeffs been doing for months. That's why Mike made the first video. The sad fact is we live in asociety where men can be verbally taunted and bullied and are given no recourse. All part of this toxic masculinity culture.
@bobbydavis41442 ай бұрын
@@mightyquinn5135 First off, he walked in his general direction with intent to talk to Mike to figure out what his vague threat was and Mike charged him, grabbed him by the throat, and pushed him over the seated row bench. Second, are you implying that Mike, a man who has 100+ pounds on Jeff and 5-7 inches on height on him and felt the need to "defend himself?" Third, where is your proof that Jeff has been "poaching clients?" If anything I'd assume Mike's personality and knowledge on training is what ran his clients off. He's an overbearing, condescending ass to damn near anyone on the internet. His videos prove his and if his clients saw them that's more than enough to send them running from him. Why involve that psycho in your life, let alone pay him for shitty, generic advice. Fourth, even if his clients are going to Jeff...that's business. If you want to make a living you need to be good at your job. By all indicators Mike is terrible at everything he attempts. Jeff on the other hand is successful as both a bodybuilder and powerlifter, and appeals to natural lifters. A demographic that takes up the majority of the gym space. Fifth and final, Mike's biggest issue and impediment is Mike. There's countless instances of the dude trying to act like some prison yard big shot online, threatening violence to anyone SMALLER than him. But running away or shutting up when someone bigger or with actual experience puts him in his place. He's the epitome of "toxic masculinity" if there ever was one.
@bobbydavis41442 ай бұрын
@@mightyquinn5135 Did you report my reply to you? Or did someone else? If so that's beyond pathetic. End of the day, Jeff isn't poaching clients. Second, Jeff approached Mike with intent to talk and you're implying Mike was so threatened by Jeff he had to assault him to defend himself. Says a LOT about Mike's character. Third, It's not poaching if you lose clients. That is business. Be better at your job and you won't lose clientele. Mike's only issue is Mike and his prison bro wannabe ego. End of the day, the way this all comes forward and ends up is: Mike posts a short asking all these "science based, natty lifters" if they're so good, where's their results and physiques? And does so in a blatant mocking and judgmental tone. Jeff responds back, in a passive aggressive manner highlighting his many accomplishments as a natural lifter, became a natural pro who has won comps, has set powerlifting records for I believe his weight class and/or age bracket. Mike goes out of his way in the CCTV footage to instigate their initial contact. Jeff chuckles because it was out of the blue and random, a response quite a few people have when they're put on the spot and nervous. Mike makes a comment to the effect of "Oh, it's about to get funny." Jeff finishes his set and starts to walk over to Mike, in his post stating with the intent to find out what Mike meant by his earlier statement. Mike walks up to Jeff, who isn't displaying any sort of aggression towards Mike, and grabs him by the throat and pushes him over a seated cable row machine. No talking, no arguing, just straight up stiff arms the guy by the neck. Jeff gets to his feet and attempts to put distance between the two. Mike pursues Jeff and pushes Jeff by the throat for a second time. Jeff still has done nothing to imply he's a threat to Mike and at this point even if he did it would be viewed as self-defense. Mike gets in Jeff's face. Goes to storm off and shoulders Jeff's camera guy, notices it's Jeff's camera guy and then shoves him, too. Someone who had nothing to do with their initial "beef" if you could even call this that. The only thing Jeff said that wasn't factually correct between his initial story and the video being released is Mike didn't shoulder check him when he initially walked up to him and said "Sup." Which given the circumstances and the events, this is understandable because a shoulder check did happen eventually to the camera guy. Adrenaline and fear make us see and process things in weird ways. To sum it up: Mike decided to be a condescending smartass to a demographic he's not apart of and thinks he's better than. Jeff replied back stating his accomplishments, which are greater than Mike's, being in that demographic. Mike threw a tantrum like a small child and assaulted Jeff and his camera guy because Jeff shot down and embarrassed Mike and his video. He did this in his place of employment, in front of a gym full of people, and on various forms of recording devices. This dude has everything that is coming to him. Jail/prison time and his professional line of work is dead. No gym is going to hire this man and I doubt he'll get new clients.

I was taught at a young age, you don't mess with a man's money or his reputation. Jeff did both. But unfortunately for Mike we live in a world where online bullying is OK. There is another possibility: he is a coward and a criminal. It is pretty clear he believes in resorting to violence, he have proudly stated so, he also have shown to bail when the other seems a menace but is willing to attack those he does not perceive as a threat.

What bothers me the most, is that nobody in Mike's circles have intervened before he attacked Jeff. There is more than enough video evidence of Mike being easily triggered and engaging in intimidating behaviour. He has been validated in toxic behaviour too many times. I really liked him when he was on your podcast. Palm striking somebody in the throat twice and then making money off of the incident is borderline insane. Pure Muscle & Fitness rightfully banned him from using the facilities, as I would have never allowed him back in after that just from that behaviour alone. Even if Jeff threatened to kill his mother, Mike should've taken a different approach and not try to physically harm the offender. Any attempts to downplay this incident only poorly reflects on the ones downplaying it. Not saying anything about it would be much better.

It’s obvious you guys didn’t see the full video that came out. And the guy in the Pink Floyd shirt seems to have some screws loose. It’s not normal to go at someone’s throat and that consonant nasal thing going on with him doesn’t reflect things are going too good for him in general.

Dude has had an open grudge against certain types of lifers and runs with a certain crowd. This was so pre meditated. Mike wanted this to happen

To all the people questioning Dave giving a devil’s advocate to Mike’s behavior, you gotta remember Dave’s background. He is a hardened, veteran lifter from WESTSIDE. He’s seen stuff like that go down probably on the daily because of who he trained with in the environment of what he termed “Hell With Weights.” Dave said it was wrong, but he’s not phased by a shove to the throat by a nutcase with a bald head and tattoos. It’s not a shock to an OG like Tate, AKA, zippy.
@HammerShock232 ай бұрын
Yeah, but at Westside everybody knew what the deal was and how you'd settle disagreements. Even in an intensely aggressive environment like that, sucker punching someone isn't going to fly.

To all the people that hear this and think that Dave is making excuses, you understand that you can analyze a situation WITHOUT getting personally angry. All this is speculation on a possible mindset, it’s not an excuse, it’s called a conversation and we ALL have our own perspective based on our own experiences that are going to come in to play when analyzing a situation, that’s called empathy, also not an excuse. “Fuck him, yea fuck him” is not a conversation nor adds anything, hell it’s a podcast.

Something to keep in mind is that just because someone’s words and tone are ‘polite’ doesn’t mean they aren’t potentially trying to get under someone’s skin. One of my biggest challenges with managing my emotions is dealing with sneaky or snarky people. I’m not saying that’s necessarily the case here, but it’s essential not to assume someone is a good person just based on their image. Will Smith, for example, was considered a ‘super humble, nice guy,’ yet he turned out to be the opposite.
