We indians are brown colour.just shade difference .fair afghanis also byown infront of british people.but we are arrogant and racist according to our shade difference. It came from caste system i believe. I m fair in our kerala skin colour. @@linithaathish2613 Oh thank you for responding. Ofc on average Indians are brown skinned. Some peeps from Kashmir, Himachal, haryana, uttarakhand and Punjab posses very pale skin like whites and some South Indians are very black skinned. Still our people are judging others like we're monoethnic people. It's the hangover that beaten inside our mind during colonialism, casteism and it's overblown by commercial ads, medias and film industries. I'm a mallu raised in Maharashtra, I'm very pale skinned and when I went to south for my studies, some peeps where like are you north Indian? South Indian can't be this fair skinned! And called me slangs like paandu, ghori ke beta, Vellakkoora(sland for white roaches used by some malayalees). There is this notion spread by the media like every North Indians are pale skinned and south Indians are dark. And yes you're true in that cent, people overseas will only consider us as brown if we're Indian. I was bit wondered about the toxic comments against Indians by foreigners across internet. But it's no surprise that we Indians are the most racist people towards every others and peeps within their own race. Mallus are comparatively good comparing with other south Indians, it's the superiority complex among some mallus making them bit annoying.

They hate asians .but they marry blacks or africans They like africans and they cant accept asians.as u mentioned some people asked u about r u a north indians.so many people in kerala and southindia fair skinned.aiswarya rai is from karnataka.aravindswami also from Taminnadu.jayalalitha from tamil nadu.north indian movies Amithabh bachan,ajay devgan,kajol,rani mukerjee,jaya bachan etccc are not fair skinned.we know aryans and dravidians.kerala 50 percent muslims are arabic colour.i m from malabar.all my frds muslims are fairer than others.i hate this caste system and colour discrimination. If a fair mallu come and stay in uk.there is no extra value in this community. My husband is a doctor.i am a nurse.i m doing phd nursing. There is no value of education in this country.they value only their ethnicity. But we indians hate each other according to language, caste,colour etccc.that is the reason british ruled us 200 years. Now Goa people r mentioning they r not indians 😂they r so arrogant towards us .here they r representing they r Portugal. @@linithaathish2613 ughh your Goa one made me so laughter😅 cuz I know some Goans consider themselves more Portugese than Indian. For example if you ask them if they're Indian, they'll say No, I'm Goan😂. Although we cannot blame them whole. Goan culture, especially Gaon catholic culture is so different from rest of India and it's not quiet like India that is becoming increasingly westernised either. Goa was separated from India for several years of Portuguese rule. Even today I guess more Goans are eligible for Portuguese passport as well. Yes, there are many fair and dark skinned people throughout our country. And ofc by considering the climate and environment, north Indians maybe lil paler than south Indians(but on average). However I think it's the Bollywood spread this false notion by casting only fair skinned Brahmins from North India and romanticized Punjabis with pale skinned. And there is no surprise that father's of bollywood Rishi kapoor and Dev Anand both are Punjabis. Guess you would've watched Chennai express movie, it clearly explains what an average north Indian thought about south India. Uhh I don't think muslims are 50 percent fairer or anything. I was there in my homeland kannur for about 7-8yrs and travelled alot through Malabar and even tho my maternal home belongs to Muzhappilanghadu in Kannur which's known for it's huge muslim population. I never observed anything like that. Maybe it's a availability bias which made you think like that. Even historical studies state that vast majority of the muslims in Kerala are direct descendants(converts) of low caste Hindus who were subjected to severe casteism by Namboodiris and other upper castes. Kerala's Caste system was so wierd than rest of India, still the best thing Casteism in kerala did was they never followed strict endogamy(marrying within the community, more like distant relatives). And there was this study you could refer in Online stating that almost every Keralite posses more or similar DNA. Intermixing of every castes along with Christian missionaries, Arabs and everything is the reason why we've even dark, short people in upper castes and fair, tall in lower caste as well. So unlike other north Indian states, we keralites can't judge others within our community by refering one's skin tone or height(yeah casteism still experience there, Recent Satyabhama explains that:P). Yup it's unfortunate that there is some undeclared racial hierarchy exists; white Europeans on the top and black Africans at the bottom. We South Asians are placed along side of black community. That's why most of the countries are racist towards us. Ughh I forgot to mention; wish you a great accomplishment for your future ventures and career path.
