The books and show really are so different regarding Dany's story, pretty much right from the beginning. Mereen wasn't taken so easily, there was a lot of bloodshed and she already knew about Jorah's betrayal and being undecided about what to do with the both Barriston and Jorah for being unthruthful, it was those two she sent into the sewers to arm the slaves, later forgiving Barriston and exiling Jorah.

So it's been on my radar for awhile on case other book readers had forgotten it (and I hope that show watchers get a kick out of some more barristan the badass color)

Baristan is hand's down one of my favourite characters in ASOIAF and one of the best fighter's in the world,as you said he beat down an armed man with just a stick. Kinda sad they removed him from the show (and not in a good way if you ask me,he should have carved through those Harpy's like a knife cuting through butter). Also I think you got the sigils of the Second Son's and Storm Crows mixed up Kev.

I domt think westeros will ever be graced with barristan the bold again:*( Yeh I splurged since jim is my brother in laws little brother. I got front row lol. But I've done front row floor and it's too low. So I did front row in the stands si that my head would be about equal with the fighters, maybe a little lower. It's probably best visually to get 3 or 4 rows up. But having just a lil wall in front to put feet up was pretty nice. Like the economy plus seats right before first class lol :))

like Eliaz said, the last one i did on all the dragons was not actuallyt what i meant to do. i just got carried away writing a script since i love so many of them, and it turned into story time. i had wanted to do one that is more technically, showing how i came up with all the calculations in that video (both to share literally like a 100 hours worth of work that i did about a year ago when first prepping that video, but also to get feedback. cause i'd love to know if my understanding of them is flawed)

Yaaaah! I did hate this Titan's blustering Bastard - books and even more so in the show and did enjoy Barristan's soo dry "gladly, yr Grace". BUT! Barristan was Kingsguard to Aerys II., too - and all the Kingsguard-incl. Barristan-knew what Aerys did to Rhaella, his SisterQueen. Not one of them, not even the Sword of Morning, blinked an eye. Only the young, still inexperienced and rather innocent Jaime wanted to interfere - and was taken to task for it (not too hard, though)... Knights always seem hypocrites to me (Sorry, Kev - btw, you're Windrunner?)

In the books he always seems to have deep, often morally troubling thoughts in the back of his mind. Only his love for Cersei is steady. I don't care bout incest - consenting adults - I can admire his steadfast love, even when he realises that he's starting to doubt, even hate her, as well. The part were Jaime wants to help Queen Raella doesn't get enough attention, though it gives a good insight in what kind of man the "Young Lion" could have been 🌹

I friggen looooove this comment. It's one if the most overlooked facts about jaime Lannister. It's why I dont think he went from bad to good. He changed for sure after losing his hand, but putting aside arrogant and rude behavior (which is not that big a deal in the bigger scheme of things), he has always been a true knight and a solid dude imo :))

agreed, to say he went from bad to good is almost insulting. Jaime basically was a favoured son of a great house, whose youthful dreams went down the drain when he realized his service as a Kingsguard was horror, not the great honour it should've been. I'm certain being regarded as somewhat grubby for killing Aerys troubled him more than his love for Cersei - though he did wish she come to Essos with him, where they could live as man and wife. And yet, for quite a while, he was somewhat shallow... He hid his hurt pride/feelings with the arrogance and rudeness you mention, not only from others, but also from himself - remember the scene in the stockades, when Jaime tried to goad Catelyn to kill him? He went through a long phase of hardship for the first time in his life, that started to grind the surface down. Culmination was the loss of his hand - and a dropping away of all his masks, he became visible, first and foremost to himself. Hoooh, I hated Cersei for the look she gave him instead of a welcome - and I'm not even a true Jaime-fan...
