The 2022 FTX Crypto Cup sees Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Levon Aronian, Anish Giri, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Liem Le, Hans Niemann and Praggnanandhaa gather in the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel in Miami, Florida for the 2nd Major on the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. $210,000 and a $100,000 Bitcoin bonus is at stake in the 7-round all-play-all tournament. Each match consists of 4 rapid games on the chess24 Playzone, with the winner earning $7,500 (3 points). If the match is tied there's a blitz tiebreak, with 2 blitz games followed, if needed, by a single Armageddon game. The winner earns $5,000 (2 points) and the loser $2,500 (1).
For each rapid game the players have 15 minutes for all their moves, with a 10-second increment after each move. For blitz games it's 5 minutes and a 3-second increment, while for the Armageddon game White has 5 minutes to Black's 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: chess24.com/tour

@@cmc2110 Ali is more cunning and crafty than Pragg. I think Ali has a higher ceiling, but his performance in the candidates tournament, shows that he has a long way to go when it comes to nerves and mental fortitude. Pragg is more consistent than Ali. He seems to thrive in stressful situations against top opponents. He is an absolute magician when it comes to the mid game, but needs to work on his openings so he doesn't fall behind and waste his mid game brilliance on equalizing his position.

yeah but to be honest, if you are a good chessplayer anyways (2000 or higher official rating) its not that much work. Analyzing maybe 30 mins, video onetake, no cuts, avarage 15 mins. So all in all 1 hour per video maybe. Except the Sagas or Alpha Zero games, thats more work for sure. im a big fan, so thats not a front. Rook to g8 is followed by king in f7 threats the rook . So rook captures in g5 is followed by pawn to h2 one square from promotion you will either protect with rook to g5 allowing black king to g6 threatening rook either way it's a draw. White king can't get near as black king can capture the pawn in f4 so no matter it's a draw. These players know how to play engine like precision 😁
@timothylee2772
@timothylee2772 Жыл бұрын
@@keyboard1186 It's not a draw if you do it carefully. The best case scenario is you are up by two pawns if Pragg blunders after being checked. But you will have at least one pawn. You can promote that pawn to a queen and forced Pragg to either give up his rook to eliminate the queen or you end up being a queen up in the end game.

@@cmc2110 he was worse against Duda doesn't mean his quality of play didn't drop against those guys. He blundered a lot against Duda. But against these guys, he was just missing lines that usual Magnus would have seen on a regular day if he was serious about the games. these rapid tournaments are fun to watch but the inaccuracies they make are almost expected. That knight fork magnus "missed" ;-) on that last game with Prag was dubious. You can tell its hard for them to give their best when the games are basically meaningless. Magnus seems to do better the more pressure. I was always like that in other sports. Like Golf and Pool. Magnus really gifted Prag several wins that Prag didn't deserve but thats rapid.
