Brioche Fix It Frogged Stitches

A tutorial about how to pick up live stitches after frogging brioche knitting.

What you'll need:
- 1 US size 3 DPN (or one or two sizes smaller than the sample is knit with)
- A sample swatch of 2-color brioche, knit flat
- Some nerve to rip out a few rows

Thanks so much for this video! I messed up on a briochevron cowl and tried to fix it! I got most of the stitches picked up, but it happened in the decrease area, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it all the way. I was able to frog back and get all my stitches back on. Thank you!!!

I don't have a video for that but KnitPurlHunter does and it's excellent! While her video does not focus on Brioche, the process is exactly the same. The you'll just want to be sure to put the lifeline through the stitches AND the wraps so that you have everything in place if you need to go back and pick up the stitches. Good luck!

Is it possible to add a lifeline a few rows below a mistake? I'm knitting a brioche hat in the round. Your other videos have taught me how to do all of the techniques I needed, but I goofed a stitch. Thanks for your help.

Heather Hedrick Absolutely! I suppose the bigger trick will be finding where to put the lifeline. It's definitely easier to put in on the row you're currently working. If you just have one column you have to drop down you could always clip a removable marker below the mistake so you don't drop too far below it. But yes, you can put a lifeline in.
