I don't think being risk-averse is the problem necessarily. Today's advertising is all about chasing away the "undesirables," e.g., frat boys and rednecks, in search of a "better class of consumer." Most of the entertainment industry follows this same "inclusion through exclusion" doctrine. Gone are the days of broad appeal through humor. If anything, chasing away your customers in pursuit of another demo that you may not get reeks of a cocky arrogance and recklessness with the brand.

@@jamesleyda365 that's actually pretty solid for a pounding beer. And what I mean about pounding, it's a beer you figure will be served ice cold and consumed in large quantities. That's what Bud & Bud Light are. If I'm not mistaken, their alc % was near 3 only 20 years ago. I got into Sam Adams in the 90s because I liked the taste better and it got me buzzed faster so I wouldn't need to get more. Now it seems like all of these cheaper beers raised their alc value. I still p;refer the flavors of Sam, but kudos to these brands trying to keep up while still providing value to their customers.

The light beers (coors,miller, Bud) are all about 5% alcohol. They are for days where you have worked outside or at the pool or lake and it’s really hot. These commercials were from the Super Bowl. Bud Light may not be around for the next Super Bowl in 2024. It's sales have dropped to record lows since the stupid transgender ad of a few months ago. The people who gave the OK for the ad have lost their jobs and the company is losing millions because Americans are so angry about companies pushing their woke agenda. Americans do not want companies forcing their ideas on them.
