The old man getting tackled in the Snickers commercial is actor Abe Vigoda who played Sal Tessio in "The Godfather," then played Detective Phil Fish in the police comedy , "Barney Miller" and starred in the spin- off comedy series "Fish." He starred in many films and TV shows during his career, including guest sketch appearances on " Late Night with Conan O'Brien on NBC Studios in New York. Vigoda worked into his 90's until his death in 2016 at age 94.

You may have missed some of these commercials because they are from various Superbowl years. Some were made after you left the USA. The actor on the horse with David Barbour, is Isaiah Mustafa, famous for his "Old Spice" aftershave commercials, that is why he told Barbour to get off his horse during the Tide advert.

One reason some commercials seem random is that there’s a bit of a subculture of ad campaigns at the Super Bowl. Some companies (like Budweiser) have consistent campaigns that have gone on for literally 30 years. So there are a lot of in references and in jokes that reference cliches you might not pick up on if you haven’t watched decades of super bowls. The Tide ad directly referenced several of the most successful campaigns in recent history, which was why it was so funny. The ads also popped up randomly throughout the game, not all in a row like in the video. So you were genuinely fooled into thinking it was a familiar campaign for a totally different product.
