Quick tip. The chart for the hold showed that the inbound course was 144 degress with right turns. Set that in LSK 3L to follow the published procedure. I think the value of 155 was derived from your flighplans course to the HON waypoint. Standard holds are 1 minute at or below 14000 feet, one and a half above that. Thanks for the videos!

I love CRJ! It's so complete! Been avoiding modern aircrafts on MSFS because all of them are broken, been just flying DC-6 for a long while, until I finally bit the bullet and purchased CRJ!

It really is amazing isn't it - by far my favourite aircraft in the sim currently!

Thank you of all your videos I am having a lot of fun with the CRJ I cannot believe that this videos have only 150 likes... quite disappointing. Cheers!

Looking good mate, haven’t practiced holds before, so that’s something I need to do next. Suppose you could use holds for losing altitude, say you discover you’re way too high for making a good landing.

My pleasure! It's an amazing aircraft and there is SO much to get your head around I'm trying to cover the major areas to really help people who might be stuck as I've had to take a lot of time learning it myself! It's very enjoyable though 😃

If in this example you had just overflown HONILEY and had just begun your right turn, and at that moment you were told you could exit the hold, could you sneakily veer left towards TOBID or would have have to go all the way round the loop again?
@BritishAvgeek3 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't be able to sneak left unless given a vector and told to leave the hold but ordinarily as I understand it you'd have to finish the lap

Great tutorial if you don’t get told how long to expect a hold for what leg time should you input?
@BritishAvgeek3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The leg time is each leg of the hold - so each straight line for example being 1 minute, the leg time would be 1 minute in its most basic way to explain. Whenever you are told to exit the hold, you just click the Exit Hold button on the CDU and the aircraft will fly out of the hold automatically and on to the next waypoint 👍
@Finnb20043 жыл бұрын
@@BritishAvgeek oh I see I was thinking of leg time as in how long you’re telling the plane it will hold for. Makes more sense now thanks 👍🏼

The hold taking into account the crosswing in the radial input seems horribly confusing to me. Chart says 324, but the hold in the FMC says 335. What if you want to hold on a point that doesn't have a preset holding direction? When you enter a radial, does it take that radial as the track (the number it says on the chart/you've gotten from ATC), or does it take that radial as the heading with wind correction (what would mean I would first have to apply wind correction myself to the radial on the chart/ get from ATC). It using wind correction there seems very strange.

Thanks for this great video. The biggest problem I struggle with is holding the speed. Not only in holdings, but all the way from start to end, especially during the descend. Is there a special magic behind it?
@BritishAvgeek3 жыл бұрын
How do you mean? There is no autothrottle so we have to manage it all ourselves the entire time except for climbing

sorry, i couldn't see, what you did. hold -> waypoint in legs page and then? would be great if say where to click. thanks for your content
@BritishAvgeek3 жыл бұрын
Hi! So in Legs, select the waypoint you wish to hold at. Then click Holds and click the top left button too enter it into the top left then configure the hold page :)

I hope aerosoft is working on the lnav mode and the overcorrections. Also I would like to see terrain and radar working but I guess aerosoft is not working on that anymore.
@BritishAvgeek2 жыл бұрын
They've said they need Asobo to release the weather API for them to be able to work on a proper terrain and weather radar for the aircraft so it's down to Asobo to release it (plenty of Devs keep asking them but Asobo keep saying no). With regards to LNAV I don't think any more corrections are being made?
@smokehouse25442 жыл бұрын
Does the CRJ from Aerosoft do parallel and tear drop entries properly??
@BritishAvgeek2 жыл бұрын
Depends on your nav data - with navigraph it can as it feeds in a much better Nav system but it does need some tweaks and a bit of intervention at times

Quick question, I'm trying to input a hold in the CRJ for BRRTO (part of the KABQ STAR) which is a left hand hold. However the CRJ seems to assume it is a right hand turn. I can't seem to type /L Turn or change the INBD CRS to adjust it. DO you have ideas about how to fix that? Thanks`!
@BritishAvgeek2 жыл бұрын
I'd have to take another look but it should work - try putting in the degrees /L as a complete line rather than just /L on its own
