Nicotine Dolls are amazing. Their lives shows are the best I've ever been to. The band has been around since 2017 and they have a lot of music out already on all platforms including music videos on the band's KZbin channel. Sam is the most humble and authentic person you'll ever meet.

They put out lots of music and so lots of covers. They are selling out shows left and right, they recently sold out a venue for 1000 people which I believe is their largest to date. As mentioned Sam left the show because they kept trying to make him into a solo act and they just did it to get their name out there, and it worked. They are all also super nice guys.

I followed him on TikTok quite a while before this audition. I was so happy to see him on AGT but he actually declined to return for the live shows. Apparently some of the things you have to sign an agreement to didn't feel right to him so he said nope. I honestly think he didn't want to do it without the band. He's really a lovely guy and I hope he and the band achieve all the success in the world.

My understanding is AGT reached out to him to do a cover, and he pressed to go on as ND with an original. Those contracts are onerous. Guaranteed he had no intention of leaving the group behind, or letting them pressure their artistic direction. They’ve had attention from Tim McGraw, Lady GaGa, Gary Levox, Diane Warren, Henry Cavill…Sam is a great writer and frontman, and the band is tight musically and in friendship. And yep, really nice guys.

Thank You, Brittani! That was my request! Isn’t he great!? No one was expecting that voice! Unfortunately Sam withdrew from the competition after this audition. He really wanted to bring his band Nicotine Dolls with him moving further into the competition and the producers insisted that it just be him to the point where they wanted to rebrand the band Sam Cieri and Nicotine Dolls for any contracts that came out of his participation in the show. He said he just couldn’t do that to his bandmates. Good on him for standing up, but I wish we could have seen him perform on the show more! No idea where Howie was that week…. Love you, take care!

There's so many great songs. This one is hauntingly beautiful. It's called "30 Somehow" and it's Sam documenting what he was going through when he turned 30. The part where he pauses to get the courage to continue while singing about his Grandmother's illness always gets me (she passed a couple of months ago and she was everything to him).
