Brother Tim (c) (p) Ty Brando

Tim Nation was my brother. We had the same father, George Nation. Thing is, I was adopted, raised near St. Louis, MO, and was unable to learn who my natural father was until January of 2023. At that time I learned who I was looking for and was able to track Tim down, and much to my surprise, learned we were living in the same town! Our other brother, Mike, and sister, MaryAnn preceded Tim in death. Tim died after a mighty battle with cancer in January 2024. So, I only got to know him for a little over a year before he passed. Shortly before he passed, while he was still in the ICU, he asked me to write him a song. This is it. He mentioned wanting to have his ashes spread in a desert, which is why the first verse talks about lizards, etc. The song mentions guns -- anyone who knows Tim knows he was into guns and taught official concealed carry classes. Our father had a reputation for being an extremely 'good shot'. We got to shoot together several times. The song mentions cigars . . . Tim liked to spend some time at a place where cigars were enjoyed. He enjoyed the fellowship there. The song also talks about the KING of KINGS. Tim was a spiritual, godly Christian man who tried his best to walk with the Lord, keep His ways, and show Christ to others . . . here, this side of heaven. I'm playing Tim's classical guitar, panned to the right side. It can be heard particularly at the start and here and there along the way. Singing in the chorus are several members (six voices) of the Nation family including his wife/widow and children and grandchildren (one of the grandchildren is singing at the very beginning) . . . and me, his brother. I miss him greatly and wish we could have had more time together. However, WE'LL ALL BE TOGETHER, SOMEDAY! RIP in the Arms of our Lord, Brother Tim (born: 10/26/47 - died: 01/29/24).
