This was a VERY important concert for the girls. They needed to submit a video to The Berklee School of Music, showing their skill level, in order to qualify for the summer program. Important, especially for Pau and Ale, because they were to young to participate in the program. Pau was 13. Ale was 10. Imagine that for a moment. They both got Special Dispensation.

I have already posted the back story of this landmark concert in this thread. Some of the characters in this video: The guy in forefront wearing a purple Tee was Dany's 1st guitar teacher. The guy in a black The Warning shirt who came over and fixed the mike for Dany is Papa Warning, Luis Villarreal. The lady in black, recording from various angles behind the stage, is Mama Warning, Mony Velez. The guy in red T-shirt behind the stage is Pablo González Sarre (Latin Grammy nominated bassist & founder of Mexican band Los Claxons). He was Ale's bass teacher & the group's music mentor. His contribution to the formative decade of The Warning is invaluable & needs to be documented. The only Muse I have heard is through The Warning. They are the girls' idols. Imagine Ale's excitement, when in 2020 Muse tweeted her short clip of Hysteria that you included in your reaction. In a perfect example of dreams coming true, The Warning got to open for Muse in 4 shows in Mexico last January thanks to astute managerial efforts by Rudy, their manager. And to make this already exceptional journey a fairy tale Muse, at the end of their Mexico sojourn, invited The Warning for 5 shows in Europe last June. The icing on the cake was when Matt Bellamy, guitarist & frontman of Muse, gifted Dany a mustard yellow Mansion guitar before their last opener in UK. Mansion Guitar Works don't have that shade in their standard production line. So it is a unique guitar made for Dany. Pau said in their TEDX 2017 at University of Nevada - believe in your dream & work hard for it to make it true. She & her sisters epitomize that statement through unwavering focus & structured hard work.

These ladies are incapable of writing a bad song. Watch the entire concert from Teatro Metropolitan from August of 2022. Choke is the video I saw 15 months ago that spiralled me into The Warning rabbit hole. There are so many of their songs that take the listener on a musical and lyrical super rollercoaster ride, with slow build ups, pauses, then extreme pounding cords and bass lines. The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 3 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs). Warning: you will be innundated by The Warning Army!

He is the bassist for the band Los Claxons. The woman behind Pau with the white design on her back is their mother. The guy who finally fixed the mike is their dad. Early teens? Ale was 10. This was the last time they attended their school, Liceo de Monterrey. They went on to home schooling due to touring commitments. The Victoria in the video is a local Monterrey record label. They were supposed to sign with Victoria, but the deal fell through. They still sometimes use their studio for some performance recordings.

I'm so glad that they became known worldwide. It makes me really happy to have recommended future stars. The song that made me a fan of theirs was the live performance of Everlong by them. Even the Foo Fighters have seen it and Dave Grohl said he loved it. I also recommended like crazy Bruno Mars when he was a kid on KZbin singing on the floor with another kid. I knew he would become massive too. There is hope for the future of music. It's not just crappy songs that repeat the same two notes over and over again.

To give you the context before reacting to this landmark concert in The Warning's journey, I posted the back story in your previous reaction to Berklee Video Diary. And you did read it. Unfortunately it was too late since it is clear now that you saw my post after this reaction. So I am pasting it again. "After their Enter Sandman went viral in 2014 (Metallica's Kirk Hammett tweeted in 2015 - the drummer kicks maximum ass) the girls decided to write their own music instead of doing more covers. The group's mentor & Ale's bass teacher, Pablo González Sarre (Latin Grammy nominated bassist & founder of Mexican band Los Claxons & seen here behind the stage in red T-shirt), initiated the sisters into writing their own songs. The 1st effort was published as an E.P. in April, 2015 - Escape the Mind. Pablo suggested that they enroll for Berklee's 6 weeks summer course. A crowdfunding was started. Then Ellen called them to her show and along with Target funded them to Berklee. Now Pau at 13 & Ale at 10 were underage for that particular course. So to showcase their proficiency The Warning gave a concert in their school which was recorded professionally & sent to Berklee's admission committee. Ale played Hysteria by Muse for bass (the video cuts to front camera for the 1st time to show Ale), Pau selected Everlong by Foo Fighters for drums (inset video focussing on Pau recorded by Mama Warning, Mony, seen behind the stage in a black T-shirt) & Dany chose Crazy Train by Ozzy for guitar skills. Followed by Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses to show their expertise as a band. Then the group played original songs from Escape the Mind. Video was shot by TyP&Art, a local media/news company, and sound was recorded by Victoria Records. Most probably both companies donated their services as part of the band's GoFundMe campaign to attend Berklee. The Warning were already signed by Victoria Records, their 1st label. Wish I could see the reaction of selection panel at Berklee when they watched the tapes. A 10 year old Ale showing off by playing Hysteria's rigorous bassline from top of the fretboard in reverse fingering!!! Pau going into a frenzy with Everlong at the age of 13!!!"

Great performance, so much talent! Two questions I’m sure someone can answer: Did they come up with that into themselves, and did Ale use the overhand technique on Hysteria in order to overcome the size of her hands at age 10? If so, that’s very innovative and she never misses a note while switching between overhand and the normal underhand fretting technique.
