Interestingly, in my playthrough, I found evidence that Allison murdered the dog. There's a charred up piece of paper in the fireplace in michael and allison's room that has text about odorless poison, and the all-caps handwriting matches Allison's writing in her diary. Her diary also contains a lot of things that seem to show a warped perspective of how she sees people. In the diary, she is annoyed at the dog, but thinks everyone else gets along with it fine, despite being the only character to never outright complain about it on camera. Also, Katherine's eDiary denies killing the dog, which since she has no problem admitting to using michael, or any other questionable or illegal things she's done, it seems weird that she'd lie about this detail in particular.

The fact they've been having an intimate affair makes it so much worse. On its own it would be.... still weird, but, in the context of the story you could argue she's impersonating the daughter to help Michael "relive the tragedy" as part of the grieving process. Seems reasonable(??) instead of... ew. This is why we can't have nice things.

I wonder for some reason the most part about Micheal's coworkers. I mean, they are supposedly just normal people unlike everyone else here. So they, knowing why Micheal took time off in the first place, react REALLY unfairly when he shows signs of stress returning to the workplace. And even though they would have no idea about the weird lady 'helping' his wife, there would be a good chance most of them know his wife is doing really really badly. They all look at him like "Frick what does that guy have to be so strung out about. He only is just getting back into the world after an traumatic event, trying to somehow to help his wife and deal with his own grief. But that jerk snapped at that lady, (without, swearing, getting violent, or making it personal/calling names. Just bad mood snapped) how dare he!"

Psychiatrists aren't really qualified to do anything that happened in this movie/game/whatever this moose who has such bravery I've never seen experienced. Psychiatrists basically recognize the symptoms of a mental health problem and then prescribe drugs for it. They treat mental health medically. Now, what this movie was more going for was clinical psychology, and even in that aspect, I think a few liberties were taken. Like, "did the writers even look up the definition of psychology?" liberties. Eh, but what do I know? Its not like psychology is a science or anything. Oh, wait. It is.

I was 22 years old when I had enough of the place I'd willingly checked myself into to help me through a rough time. A couple of the doctors cornered me in a room and told me that because I was spending so much time on my computer, they were going to take it away and let me use it about three hours every night (BTW, my computer use had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING, I wasn't neglecting things just because of my computer, they only thought that…because I'm young, I guess); I promised I wouldn't attend ANY groups or meals as long as this was in effect, and they said "Well, that's your choice, but we're going to do it anyway," and when I asked what would happen if I refused to do this, whether they were going to come to my room and wrestle my prized possession out of my hands, they said "If we have to, we'll call the police and have them take it from you." Them being authority figures, I believed them and submitted, so when they told me to sign contracts agreeing that I'd willingly gone into this, and other members of the staff thanked me every night when I turned in my computer for being so cooperative, I was really confused. I can't remember how I found out that the police didn't have the authority to take my computer away from me - that, if anything, I could call the police about the staff taking my computer away from me, it being MY possession, a graduation present from my grandmother. But when I did find out, after a good long frustration-cry, I said, "Fuck this place, they're hurting me and not helping, I'm going home." And I did - bought my own plane ticket and everything. I didn't care that they were "qualified", the things they were doing were hurting and not helping, ergo I wasn't going to continue paying for their "services". It doesn't matter if someone's intelligent or qualified, what matters is what the result is. The simple fact that the same method doesn't work for everyone - even if it works for some people - renders the "qualification" argument moot. So if a psychiatrist is very clearly hurting you more than helping (that is, doing things that couldn't be considered helpful in any way regardless of your state of mind), ignore anyone who tries to tell you to trust them just because they know what they're doing, and fire their ass.

The side stories (the 3D wandering) actually reveal pretty interesting tidbits. Catherine's diary actually shows that she's legit a good psychiatrist but she seems to experiment on the couple for her own goal.

God it's so fucking weird going back and watching old brutalmoose. Like I recognize these videos, I remember watching them, but they feel like they're from a parallel universe given how different Ian looks and how different his content is today. God, What a throwback.

This actually has a really great premise to it. This storyline could actually make a good artistic film if the project was given to the right director.

On a bit of another moose binge, and sadly I found out that Katherine Randolph passed away a year before this video aired. It's suspected it was an overdose as no information is public other than 'she quietly passed away at her home' on February 25th, 2014. This was 2 weeks after her 49th birthday. A bit sad.

For anyone who is wondering, no, the game isn't really tailored to your answers. The only part of the story that changes based on your answers is the ending, as I learned after multiple playthroughs of the game. Still, the game is pretty fun in my opinion. The meat of the game is truly the exploration segments, which Ian kind of glanced over. If he had read Michael's journal a lot more during the game, he'd realize he was not as sane as he seemed.
