Interestingly, in my playthrough, I found evidence that Allison murdered the dog. There's a charred up piece of paper in the fireplace in michael and allison's room that has text about odorless poison, and the all-caps handwriting matches Allison's writing in her diary. Her diary also contains a lot of things that seem to show a warped perspective of how she sees people. In the diary, she is annoyed at the dog, but thinks everyone else gets along with it fine, despite being the only character to never outright complain about it on camera. Also, Katherine's eDiary denies killing the dog, which since she has no problem admitting to using michael, or any other questionable or illegal things she's done, it seems weird that she'd lie about this detail in particular.

The fact they've been having an intimate affair makes it so much worse. On its own it would be.... still weird, but, in the context of the story you could argue she's impersonating the daughter to help Michael "relive the tragedy" as part of the grieving process. Seems reasonable(??) instead of... ew. This is why we can't have nice things.

I wonder for some reason the most part about Micheal's coworkers. I mean, they are supposedly just normal people unlike everyone else here. So they, knowing why Micheal took time off in the first place, react REALLY unfairly when he shows signs of stress returning to the workplace. And even though they would have no idea about the weird lady 'helping' his wife, there would be a good chance most of them know his wife is doing really really badly. They all look at him like "Frick what does that guy have to be so strung out about. He only is just getting back into the world after an traumatic event, trying to somehow to help his wife and deal with his own grief. But that jerk snapped at that lady, (without, swearing, getting violent, or making it personal/calling names. Just bad mood snapped) how dare he!"

To be fair a lot of office treat their employees like tool rather than human. They expect their employees to immediately ready to work the moment they start their shift. There's a case where a guy got fired when he's still in hospital because he's running out of sick days and he still can't go to work. Also remember a story about an employee who gave her kidney to her boss then she asked for sick leave because she doesn't feel well and got fired by her boss? Yeah, some people are plain jerks.

Cathrernes journal entry: "I should have anticipated this... I knew that Allison was married but I hadn't really considered that her husband might present a problem. From everything Turner's told me, MIchael's been forced into the role of caretaker for a woman who's become less of a wife than another child. But I was caught off guard. The way he looked at me. Watching his eyes wander over my breast and hips filled me with an u nexpected rush of excitement. Part of me wanted to encourage those eyes. But the better part had sense enough to shut the door. I have to watch myself. This case is too important, too rich an opportunity,"

Psychiatrists aren't really qualified to do anything that happened in this movie/game/whatever this moose who has such bravery I've never seen experienced. Psychiatrists basically recognize the symptoms of a mental health problem and then prescribe drugs for it. They treat mental health medically. Now, what this movie was more going for was clinical psychology, and even in that aspect, I think a few liberties were taken. Like, "did the writers even look up the definition of psychology?" liberties. Eh, but what do I know? Its not like psychology is a science or anything. Oh, wait. It is.

Also, wouldn't it be better to NOT encourage the wife's delusions about her daughter still being alive? I was 22 years old when I had enough of the place I'd willingly checked myself into to help me through a rough time. A couple of the doctors cornered me in a room and told me that because I was spending so much time on my computer, they were going to take it away and let me use it about three hours every night (BTW, my computer use had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING, I wasn't neglecting things just because of my computer, they only thought that…because I'm young, I guess); I promised I wouldn't attend ANY groups or meals as long as this was in effect, and they said "Well, that's your choice, but we're going to do it anyway," and when I asked what would happen if I refused to do this, whether they were going to come to my room and wrestle my prized possession out of my hands, they said "If we have to, we'll call the police and have them take it from you." Them being authority figures, I believed them and submitted, so when they told me to sign contracts agreeing that I'd willingly gone into this, and other members of the staff thanked me every night when I turned in my computer for being so cooperative, I was really confused. I can't remember how I found out that the police didn't have the authority to take my computer away from me - that, if anything, I could call the police about the staff taking my computer away from me, it being MY possession, a graduation present from my grandmother. But when I did find out, after a good long frustration-cry, I said, "Fuck this place, they're hurting me and not helping, I'm going home." And I did - bought my own plane ticket and everything. I didn't care that they were "qualified", the things they were doing were hurting and not helping, ergo I wasn't going to continue paying for their "services". It doesn't matter if someone's intelligent or qualified, what matters is what the result is. The simple fact that the same method doesn't work for everyone - even if it works for some people - renders the "qualification" argument moot. So if a psychiatrist is very clearly hurting you more than helping (that is, doing things that couldn't be considered helpful in any way regardless of your state of mind), ignore anyone who tries to tell you to trust them just because they know what they're doing, and fire their ass.

Wandergirl108 Well she was hurting Micheal, not her patient, Allison. She was attempting to smack her out of her traumatic reality delusion by re-making her live the event. Personally, it seems like everything else was tried, so why not? Michael is just an unstable shit head that ruined everything. He should have had his own psychiatrist.

Scheefinator …Are you one of those people who goes online to defend a viewpoint no reasonable person could possibly genuinely have? yah catherine shouldnt be a psychiatrist. i wonder. was she like this for ALL her patients? i mean being a psychiatrist i THINK requires a bit more of an even temper, hell a way more empathetic attitude. remember, you are dealing with ALL kinds of people with ALL kinds of mental issues. and you CERTAINTLY wouldnt want to risk traumatizing your clients or make them feel uncomfortable.

On a bit of another moose binge, and sadly I found out that Katherine Randolph passed away a year before this video aired. It's suspected it was an overdose as no information is public other than 'she quietly passed away at her home' on February 25th, 2014. This was 2 weeks after her 49th birthday. A bit sad.

For anyone who is wondering, no, the game isn't really tailored to your answers. The only part of the story that changes based on your answers is the ending, as I learned after multiple playthroughs of the game. Still, the game is pretty fun in my opinion. The meat of the game is truly the exploration segments, which Ian kind of glanced over. If he had read Michael's journal a lot more during the game, he'd realize he was not as sane as he seemed.
