Or maybe the crash was even part of his “loop” he’s stuck in. Just my thoughts.

I haven't seen the movie, but from what you showed in the video, I think the "he gets hit by a car" ending makes sense, thematically, because the real message of the movie is "horror movies are harmless fun, even the gory ones", isn't it ? That's why the sequence in which the protagonist gets mental and kills everyone is also just a dream, because that's not what horror movies do to you. And then he gets hit by a car, because that's a more likely thing to happen that being turned into a psychopath by a horror movie. And YES, I am reading too much into it.

It's a bookend to an anthology. It's a hamfisted but sensible way to close the story. He's the audience stand-in so his lack of character development allows him to weave in and out of the vignettes. I disagree with Ian about the ending, I think him dying at the end is intentionally vague.

Though that may not have been the intention, I do like that interpretation. But it would be a bit scarier if it cut off right after he shot himself. We do fear the unknown, and the vague fate of Charlie would be pretty chilling if it didn't continue. That probably wasn't the full intent, though; it's a horror-comedy and I think they wanted to throw in a sort of gag to mess with us in a more fun way.

Besides Hillbilly, I feel like that's a pretty clever idea; it takes the people Charlie is familiar with and puts them into his nightmares. Some of the weirdest hall passes that I’ve had include a life size plastic lobster and a live cactus
@mikeoxlong13955 жыл бұрын
Where i live we don't have passes, you just ask the teacher, however, our chemistry teacher once had one of the kids bring her a large jar of concentrated hydrochloric acid from the local water treatment facility. Whether that's better or worse than a cactus, you be the judge.
@gretchnjoyer5 жыл бұрын
Mike Oxlong that’s incredibly hilarious, I love it
@mikeoxlong13955 жыл бұрын
@@gretchnjoyer I don't think the kid carrying a maybe 3-4 liters jar of one of the strongest known acids known to chemistry, thought it was hilarious, at least judging by how gingerly he was walking. But, yeah, good times.

If the cactus dies you have to go STRAIGHT BACK TO CLASS. Good thing succulents are hardy.

All the English and History teachers got together and went to thrift stores for theirs. My teacher had a terrible decoupaged log cross-cut, someone had a bowling ball.

4:55 For my tech theater class our hall pass was a 3ft teal pvc pipe with "HALL PASS" written on the side with brown paint. It was used as both a deterrent for going to the bathroom needlessly? and to prevent theft/forgetfulness.

The spider-ape designs in the credits were really good. The monsters looked like what you would see in a really old cheap-o movie in the film. Those designs looked like what you would find in a really stylish horror comic. There's lots of detail put into its shading and fur. I wanna know who drew them; really well done!

Have you guys not seen The Deliverance? Killer hill billies is classic horror! Also The Hills Have Eyes, Cabin Fever (kind of). There's probably a bunch more.
@tarjet38675 жыл бұрын
Wrong Turn, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Cabin Fever (a little bit), Wolf Creek (but it's Australian), and Hatchet. There's probably more, it's just never been a particularly popular theme of horror/slasher.

So basically it's an anthology film that couldn't commit to being an anthology film, that blew what could have been at least a decent thematic ending for a nonsensical random one. ...seems legit.

Not only do I recall various items as hall passes from when I was a student (the simple permanent hall passes made of plastic, a small rock, a piece of wood, laminated sheet of construction paper, some of these on yarn in the early years so as to be worn around the neck), when I became a teacher I got so fed up with students going to the bathroom during my class, lost hall passes, and a couple of times the hall pass being dropped in the damn toilet, that I decided to make one as big and obnoxious as I could get away with. I used the case from a dry erase market set that measured a good 14"x10"x3". Not completely toilet proof, but much harder to drop in, and it did discourage a few kids from going! Also, on the two occasions that a student somehow "lost" the pass, it was returned to me by the following morning.

But the fingers move, so it must be a real person, not a puppet…Although, now that you mention it, I do see that the hand clips through the tile, you are quite correct, so it's CGI. Or like a green screen effect…or something…

They should have ended it at when the cop shot him because he went "crazy" towards the end. Would have been the best "horror movies cause violence" ad 😂 Now that i see it was a anthology. I think i liked the slasher scene best
