The previous 4 episodes were amazing! But this one felt off, in that the events seemed whimsical and/or skill-based instead of general in nature, which skewed the results. And the points awarded seemed inconsistent with how they did it earlier, meaning for event 6 & 7 there were less points given out in total, and they didn't explain the process. Plus it seemed kinda stupid to have each sport being a full 4 points for winning, compared to previous events often having multiple activities tallied into one event. I think they could've utilized the talent they had on the field in far better ways to finish off the series!
@connorsullivan18553 жыл бұрын
Yeah in general switching from strength and conditioning events to specific sports was weird. Like even though the vertical jump and sprints last episode weren't related to any one of the women's fields it was interesting to see who did the best based on their respective specialties. The events this episode just made no sense. Whoever had some experience in that sport won. It had nothing to do with their abilities from their training as athletes.

@Michael Hilbe Thanks for the information. Decathlete would probably win. Is a decathlete popular compared to the general group of 'track and field', I'm not too familiar with that particular focus? Wrestlers have unmatched conditioning, excellent strength and a well rounded training regime. But more importantly they don't choke and have excellent mental focus. Gymnast lack the conditioning and brute strength compared to the others. Swimmers lack the strength. Apart from a decathlete, I'm convinced a wrestler would likely win by scoring well in all events.
@dingomanz75 жыл бұрын
@Michael Hilbe I'd advise you to do just a bit more research into the sport of wrestling. It's quite popular and the athletes that make it to the top are world class. Seriously scary level of dedication, athleticism and mental toughness. I think the main reason you don't see as many people choose the sport of wrestling is the fact they have to cut weight and the cardio requirements are insane. It's a tough and brutal environment with no real payday at the end of the road like you get in NFL. As for where I am in the USA and choosing wrestling vs track or soccer: For high school, wrestling is a winter sport like basketball. Football and soccer are fall whereas track is spring. So they only need to choose between wrestling and basketball usually.

Because softball is one of the hardest sports... statistically speaking hitting a 65-72mph ball from 40ft away is one of the hardest things you can do in a sport. Similar to hitting a 95mph baseball which is obvs also statistically considered to be almost impossible.

Think of us as animals (which we are) and it may make more sense. The fittest survive because they dominate competitors and two of the main prizes of life are sustenance and reproduction. The fit part, seen from that angle, is but a means to an end. I find it fitting (I mean the damn pun) that they put that event a the end. The bounty. These ladies inspired the hell out of me.
