Bryce Young hasn’t shown anything in my opinion that says he could be great. I’m a Panthers fan and a lot of other Panthers fans feel the same way. A lot of us wanted to keep Darnold for another season but the owner and his wife were dead set on drafting Bryce Young. I don’t see any traits that says he could develop into anything more than an average QB. I’m sorry. Poor arm strength, Decent Accuracy ( In College ), poor athletic ability and a small frame. His processing ability was supposed to be his greatest asset and you don’t develop a guy for processing ability, when you can sign a veteran with the same ability because of their experience in the league.
@heyheyhey33351Ай бұрын
I don't really disagree. With that being said, it's only definitive in my eyes when he goes unsigned and no other team picks him up. While there haven't been many situations like what's happened with Bryce, there have been situations of QBs having terrible starts to their careers but developing into NFL-capable players. Some have had terrible starts but have shown to be NFL-capable on other teams. So I'm not drawing any immediate conclusions on the guy yet.
@SomajDaGoatАй бұрын
@@heyheyhey33351 I’m not saying he can’t play in this league. I’m saying as of right now his ceiling is Teddy Bridgewater. He has no elite qualities besides processing. That’s the problem. @heyheyhey33351Ай бұрын
@SomajDaGoat Absolutely agree with you there. In my opinion, not all first- or second-year QB should even be striving to establish themselves as elite. They should be establishing themselves as NFL-capable. If the team can be build their offense around them, then they can be established as franchise QBs. Otherwise they might have to either expect to relocate at least once or twice through their career, or they might have to plan for an earlier than anticipated retirement.

@@heyheyhey33351 Exactly. And it’s harder for the ones who needs the right system and good weapons around them. Because it’s rare that you get an opportunity in the right situation because they usually already have a QB.

@SomajDaGoat Exactly why I'm not drawing immediate conclusions to Bryce until he goes unsigned and doesn't get picked up by anyone else. @@0ptimaland that's perfectly fine. Panthers are in rebuild mode. They're not after a playoff run. To rebuild, they need to evaluate the entire team and having Bryce under center made that impossible. There's some receivers from last year's team that got cut because Bryce can't throw accurately over 15 air yards. Cut a starting center because Bryce thinks he deserves 6 seconds of protection not the average 2 to 3. Canales isn't going for that anymore. They upgraded the OL this past offseason. They've been top 5 in pass protection since week 1. May have improved after Raiders win. With Andy on the field, now they see there's absolutely nothing wrong or "bad" with Diontae Johnson, Thielen and Lagette. Even Jonathan Mingo looked better Sunday and he's a young 2nd year rookie that didn't look the least bit promising receiving for Bryce. Oh and the defense was gutted in the offseason to help get Bryce better OL and WRs. Now that Bryce is off the field, the defense gets to rest and not play more minutes than the offense. So even they look better. Bryce sucks and from the looks of it, he's gonna be the new Teddy Bridgewater, but without the tragic injury
@vitorpeck4458Ай бұрын
Those great throws by Bryce are fool's gold . You can't look at two or three plays and say that he is a great prospect. The problem is not only the decision making. He doesn't have a good pocket presence, doesn't have the quickness to step out, he's not accurate, does not have a strong arm and, to top it all, he is too damn short. He is done! Andy Dalton has exposed him even more.
@G.D.MartinАй бұрын
I'm a Panther fan. I don't think Bryce is an NFL quarterback. He is too small and too inconsistent, but they have too much invested in him. They will sit him for the rest of this year. If they keep playing like they did vs. the Raiders, I think they can compete for a playoff spot.

Now if things were different and Stroud was struggling on the Panthers and Young was balling out on the Texans. People would still be doing this but for a different QB. Everyone was high on Byrce Young. You don't need to admit it. As i seen even Texans fans didn't want Stroud on their team. Now the are D riding him hard because he is actually good. Reminds me of the Jags when they got Trevor Lawrence. Still a QB can group but they can only group if they have the same coach for a full year. Bryce didn't even have that in his first year. When the team stops believing in you even if you believe in yourself. It's when you will struggle. If you don't help him then he can't grow. Sitting works sometimes but not all the time. The problem will be if the Panthers move on from him and he goes somewhere that will help him get that confidence he needs people will be singing a different tune. Just watch. People didn't think Goff was good and he did something not even Stafford could do for the Lions. Darnold did something for the Vikings they haven't seen since 2016 which is a 3-0 start. Dalton is a vet but he has a ton of faults as a QB. I am sure Dalton will do fine but if the coaches are more in on Dalton. That just goes to show you they didn't try with Young.

The truth about football. I played it and I know. When your coach gives you the right pep talk. There ain’t nothing stopping you. When the whole team gets that feeling the worst team could beat teams you never imagined. It’s all about that pre game speech!

I have been a Cowboys and Giants fan since I was a kid. I am calling my shot right now. The Giants will beat the Cowboys. I have been watching Malik Nebers highlights and the guy is unguardable. He may singlehandedly save Daniel Jones career. The Cowboys need this game REALLY BAD too. OOF! 😬😵😵💫

When will GM's/Owners learn!?!? How do u give up 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks and ur #1 receiver for a QB who hasn't played a single snap in the NFL. I understand wanting to select a QB in the 1st round of the draft but ur better off waiting until u get to select in top 5 (since ur team will probably be selecting early if u need a QB) instead of selling off all ur picks which will only hurt ur new QB so its counterproductive.

Dalton and Joe Flacco are necessary journeyman backups. Quarterback coaches, more or less, that can still sling it. I think this is a good thing for Bryce Young. A learning situation.

I’m still going to defend Bryce because he didn’t get the help around him and I feel the team sandbagged him because they didn’t want him on the field! In a team game I’m astonished by how many stupid people still want to blame Bryce wholeheartedly when he had no help around him. The organization, coaching and players put him into a bad position yall stop hating on that man its not like he was big headed and said he was going to outshine everyone
@mikehawkhovers9872Ай бұрын
It's a business in the NFL. The rookie coach doesn't want to get fired by letting a rookie QB who can't process defenses or throw over the middle be the reason he loses his job. Bryce don't deserve so much hate, I agree with you, but he needs to play better.
@WyomingchiefАй бұрын
@@mikehawkhovers9872the problem is, this organization is garbage. They threw this poor kid to the Wolves didn't give him the backing he needed didn't give him a stable coaching situation and they expect him to resurrect a crappy franchise. Let the kids sit behind a solid starter like Andy dalton, learn how to be a NFL quarterback, then give him a realistic shot
@mikehawkhovers9872Ай бұрын
@@Wyomingchief I understand. That was last year with a different coach and front office. This year is a new coach and front office. They got Bryce an upgraded O-line, run game, and WRs, but he somehow regressed. Dave Canales offense is run heavy and with a focus on key passing attacks that Bryce for some reason cannot deliver basic passes, instead he delivers the opposing team free INTs instead. I don't hate him but watching the film makes me disappointed for a #1 overall QB who should be able to elevate talent around him which was proven last Sunday.
@40EastTrillАй бұрын
Stop with that no help bs! Why did Andy Dalton throw for over 300 yards with the same team he had LAST YEAR? This year they put more pieces around him and he looks even WORSE. Then Andy comes in and does it again. He just isn't a NFL QB at all. If you think the organization didn't want their #1 pick that they gave up the next 3 years for on the field, then you sir are BY FAR the stupid one. The truth is he doesn't deserve to be on a NFL field.
@darnell16playerАй бұрын
@@mikehawkhovers9872 This year the team was relatively the same. The offensive line didn’t look like it progressed and neither did the skill areas you need at all. People need to stop expecting the first QB taken or the number one pick overall to have this “Herculean” effort when the team around them literally sucks.

@jerryschramm4399Ай бұрын
Aaron Rodgers is 40. Kirk Cousins is 36. The aforementioned Peyton Manning played until he was 39. QB's can have more longevity, and sometimes, younger QB's can have a career renaissance with another team. So, is Bryce Young done? Hardly. Last year, C.J. Stroud was the talk of the league. He has come back to reality with a thud his second year.
@AJ-vn3rrАй бұрын
The funny thing about CJ being in Bryce’s situation for me is the shit everyone, panthers fans included, were saying when they drafted Bryce. EVERYONE slept on the Texans and said the panthers were going to be light years better than Houston, the Texans roster was a bottom 30 roster, and that the panthers could even be playoff contenders given how bad the NFC South was last season. Now that Bryce hasn’t done good and the Texans have, people want to say Bryce was in a worse spot than CJ and the other rookie qbs last season. Yeah, no shit, but they weren’t saying that in the 2023 off season 😂😂

Idk how I would feel about the game I’m a Raider fan and it’s the Raiders they tend to lose to bad teams like this almost every year, Dalton and the panthers have nothing to lose so they can play freely rn especially Dalton there’s no reason for him to not let it rip cause he ain’t getting another job offer after this. Let’s see how they play next week I think Bryce will get his job back

Im not super knowledgeable when it comes to football, but I think this is the Panthers way to fix the problems Bryce is facing. Let him sit behind Dalton then when they get better weapons and he has knowledge and he's comfortable he MIGHT perform better. Obviously if he can't perform when he takes over as QB1 then thats on him at the end of the day.
