Every time I watch RBY he just seems so close to being a force. If he can get mat management, work on his finishes and decision making nobody is gonna touch him. He reminds me of really really athletic kids in HS (I coach a bunch or r words) who make dumb decisions on the mat but it doesn't matter because they get away with it but at this level you just can't.

Frustrating match for RBY I'm sure. He looked like the better and by far more aggressive wrestler in this one to me, but credit to Gross for the defensive scrambling and ability to (barely?) not give up stall points. No excuses for the loss, but I think it's fair to say that RBY proved through matches with #2 and now #1 that he can hang with the best and has a legitimate shot at B1G and NCAA titles. WE ARE!

Bryce Hewitt he wasn’t stalling until the third when he got hit with stalling. Gross has always been a defensive wrestler on his feet being that he’s on average about 4in taller than just ab every 133. His attacks are all re-attacks but because he was consistently hitting re-attacks in my opinion he wasn’t stalling. The only exception being in the third when RBY shot in multiple times and gross didn’t take initiative and re-attack. I personally think the refs called a good match. You shouldn’t have to shoot in order to not stall. As long as you are taking advantage and not backing out you’re not stalling.

Nickolas Holt ref’s rarely going to hit the stalling in the last 30 second and consider it fleeing, won’t happen, they just let the other guy work.

Nickolas Holt The ref hit gross for stalling and the ref did phenomenal. Anyone who’s ever officiated at the high school or college level would agree

@idoj654123 he definitely stalled that last 30-60. He was going for the 2 on 1 most of the match. He was being offensive with it not just hanging on it. The number of shots taken doesn't determine stalling.

RBY all the way! Most improved wrestler I've seen this year. Gross should have had another stall call too. RBY dictated the action.

I don't know about that. Remember that the top three from 133lbs are out and the guy that finished fourth moved up a weight. While Gross is a champion, it's clear that he's not the same. I'll be surprised if he makes it to the finals at NCAAs. He's basically won all of his big matches by hitting a big move.

RBY was on the offense the entire time, i’m not sure what the refs were thinking but scrambling off attacks doesn’t mean you’re making attacks either. Stalling should’ve been called, and RBY definitely scored that takedown.

This must be the sport i enjoy the most because I notice myself on the edge of my seat and reacting to the movements as if I am wrestling and my muscles tense up in addition my head ends up sorta sideways lol love it nd miss it

Not so much. You're missing a few big pipe hitters at 133 this year and you have spicy boi Gross showing out even though he's arguably light for the weight class.
